Success at the Digital Innovation Council Launch and Deep Dive into Digital Protection! On October 29th, We concluded Hong Kong Fintech Week with a powerful discussion by the Digital Innovation Council at The European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong on Deep Fakes and Corporate Protection. Our panel—Esme Pau, CFA, Taeko Sakai and Filip Ziolek, moderated by François Rivard—uncovered insights on AI deepfakes’ impact on corporate security, the need for SOPs, and the urgency for regulatory action to keep up with fast-evolving digital risks. Key takeaways: Most companies remain unprepared to address deepfakes and with limited human ability to discern real from AI-generated, a robust, proactive defence is essential. Companies need clear prevention strategies and procedures to counter threats effectively, while governments must speed up regulations to protect against emerging digital risks. We welcome individuals and companies to join the Council and collaborate in driving impactful digital innovation. Contact us to learn more about membership opportunities. Thank you to all attendees, our panellists, and our venue partner, Bela Offices! #EuroCham #DigitalInnovation #Cybersecurity #DeepFakes #CorporateProtection #HongKong Nuria Sau Bassols Victor Garnier Julia Haberl 茱莉 Arend Janssen Stratos Pourzitakis, PhD, Iñaki Amate

Reflections on the 2024 Policy Address We welcome the Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address, which aligns with several recommendations advocated by the European business community. The focus on enhancing Sustainable Finance, with the introduction of the Sustainable Finance Action Agenda and adoption of global standards, reflects EuroCham’s calls for advancing green finance frameworks and reporting while promoting Hong Kong as a leader in this sector. The continued support for Green Mobility, including incentives for electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel infrastructure, is another positive step, mirroring EuroCham's and Greenway's vision for sustainable transport solutions and innovation. In the Wine and Spirits sector, the reduction of duties on certain liquor imports signals a key opportunity for Hong Kong to grow as a premium trading hub. In terms of Travel and Tourism, the expansion of aviation networks and the development of the Three-Runway System align with our efforts to position Hong Kong as a premier destination, tapping into its strategic role in global travel. The government’s steps towards Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, particularly through mentorship programmes and increased support for ethnic minorities, underscore a shared commitment to fostering a more inclusive workforce. We are also pleased to note that the HKMA will soon launch the Digital Bond Grant Scheme to encourage the adoption of tokenisation technology in capital market transactions. This initiative aligns with our view and will promote the development of the digital securities market, enhance liquidity, and support the Greater Bay Area’s growth. On Education and Talent, the expansion of schemes to attract international talent and strengthen education infrastructure echoes EuroCham’s recommendations to boost Hong Kong’s global competitiveness through education and talent development. Additionally, the government's focus on Green Technology and Innovation, including efforts to position Hong Kong as a low-carbon city, resonates with the recommendations from our flagship event on sustainability, Greenway 2024, to promote green innovation and sustainable urban development. These initiatives reflect shared priorities that position Hong Kong to thrive in a dynamic global landscape. We look forward to continued collaboration with the government and other stakeholders to drive progress on these crucial issues. #PolicyAddress2024 #EuroCham #GreenFinance #GreenTechnology #DEI #GreenCity #DigitalInnovation #SustainableMobility #TalentAttraction #WineAndSpirits #GreenInnovation #TravelAndTourism
