Preparation goes beyond the basics, requiring the right mindset, strategic communication, and a focus on your unique value. Here are 3 key takeaways: 1. Adopt the Right Mindset: Avoid underselling yourself. Approach the interview with confidence in your leadership skills and accomplishments, and don’t be afraid to negotiate for the title and compensation you deserve. 2. Master Communication: A sharp, memorable self-introduction and strong non-verbal communication—voice, tone, and body language—are essential to making a lasting impression. 3. Ask Smart Questions: Engage the interviewer with forward-thinking, strategic questions that demonstrate your leadership acumen and alignment with the company’s goals. To dive deeper into these strategies, check out the full blog. Preparation with the right approach can make all the difference in positioning yourself as the leader they need! #executivepresence #personalbranding #coaching #recruitment #careeradvancement #careerdevelopment #careercoaching #leadership #communicationcoach #blog #linkedin #newsletter #jobinterview #interviewpreparation

For a long time, Vannessa adhered to societal expectations of motherhood, believing she needed to excel at baking, foster her daughter’s love for reading, and ensure she thrived in art, dance, languages, and kindness. The pressure to meet these ideals created stress and anxiety, overshadowing the joy of simply being present with her child. In the past four years, she has embarked on a journey of self-discovery and conscious parenting. She’s learned that the key to effective parenting lies not in fulfilling a checklist of activities or expectations, but in understanding herself—her triggers, anxieties, and values. By focusing on genuine communication and connection, rather than reacting out of her own insecurities, she has found that being in touch with her own growth ultimately enhances her ability to connect deeply with her daughter. If you are able to resonate with Vanessa’s journey, please feel free to like, share or comment on this post. Note: Vanessa’s story is part of our ‘Your Story Inspires’ campaign, featuring 30+ women executives, entrepreneurs and full-time mothers from different backgrounds, professions and cultures. Stay tuned for more stories! In Q4 2024, we will be issuing an eBook with all these ladies’ stories. Sharon McEneff‘s journey into entrepreneurship was a serendipitous one. Before leaving her last job, Sharon resigned without a clear plan but knew she was unhappy where she was. It turned out that her main client recognised her contributions and bought out her contract, allowing her to work directly with them. This serendipitous turn led to the founding of her first T8 company. Since then, Sharon has never looked back. Sharon faced several obstacles in her business. Losing a key staff member who had been a significant support was a major obstacle for her. Although no one is irreplaceable, it was a challenging period where she felt alone, juggling many responsibilities. Employing skilled staff and having confidence in her own abilities have been crucial in overcoming this challenge and continuing with the business. If you are able to resonate with Sharon’s journey, please feel free to like, share or comment on this post. One major obstacle Inès faced when setting up Inspiring Girls from scratch was the significant challenge of securing funding to support their mission and initiatives. Starting a non-profit organization focused on empowering girls requires financial resources for various operational expenses, including program development, outreach, and administration. However, without an established reputation, attracting funding proved to be a daunting task. To overcome this obstacle, Ines implemented several strategies including creating a compelling vision, building strategic partnerships, utilizing creative fundraising strategies and demonstrating impact and results, amongst others. We admire Ines’s persistence and resilience as she embraced each challenge as an opportunity to refine their strategies, improve operations, and strengthen commitment to their mission. If you are able to resonate with Ines’s journey, please feel free to like, share or comment on this post. Mei did not pursue higher education, not due to gender or family constraints, but because she never figured out what kind of person she wanted to be when she was younger. After exploring various jobs, she broadened her network, enriched her life experiences, and maintained her passion for analysis. It was only later in life that she discovered her true direction. During Mei's time running SOUSOU, she faced many harsh comments, such as, "You're just a trash picker," "Your things are dirty," and "Your users' recyclables are blocking our way." One father even told his children, "If you don't work hard at school, you'll end up working like her." To all the women out there, Mei's experience serves as a reminder: believe in what you're doing, even if you're in an industry where women are in the minority. It doesn't matter if you're one of the few women in your field. Earn respect by taking pride in your work and valuing what you do. Mei believes that success isn't about when you start—early or late—but about having clear goals and pursuing them. If you are able to resonate with Mei’s journey, please feel free to like, share or comment on this post. Kylie Wong is a dedicated entrepreneur who measures success not solely by profit margins but by the strength of her team, the value created for clients, and the positive impact on the world. Kylie Wong extends her heartfelt thanks to her former manager at the Financial Times, Rita Raagas De Ramos. Despite hearing troubling stories of competition and jealousy among female colleagues, Kylie experienced none of this with Rita. Instead, Rita went above and beyond to demonstrate genuine care for Kylie, both professionally and personally. Not only was Rita a constant source of positivity, but she was also incredibly skilled and dedicated to the company while managing the responsibilities of raising a teenage daughter. Kylie feels profoundly grateful for Rita’s belief in her during times of self-doubt and considers herself incredibly fortunate to have been mentored by such an exceptional leader. Through this experience, Kylie has learned that treating staff with sincere kindness and respect inspires their unwavering dedication. If you are able to resonate with Kylie’s journey, please feel free to like, share or comment on this post.
