  • 🎉 𝗛𝗞𝗕𝗨’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝘂𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮’𝘀 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹!   We are proud to announce that HKBU’s start-up MicroFlow Innovation Limited has secured 2nd runner-up at the 2024 Maker in China SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest Final, in which they received the same award during the Hong Kong Chapter Final completed in September.    Led by Dr Kangning Ren, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, the innovative All-scenario Rapid Testing Platform Against Antimicrobial Resistance revolutionizes antimicrobial susceptibility testing. This platform allows users to conduct detailed polymicrobial analysis using a smartphone-readable "barcode" cell sensor and hydrogel-based system, streamlining processes in clinical, food safety, and pandemic management.     The finals took place on 3 December in Nansha, Guangzhou, following the Hong Kong Chapter Final held on 26 September at Cyberport.   • 𝗛𝗞𝗕𝗨 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗕𝗔𝗜𝗣 The 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Trade Expo and International Geographical Indications Products Trade Expo (GBAIP) was grandly inaugurated from 9 – 11 December 2024 at the Guangzhou Knowledge City. This event aims to promote the industrialisation of patents in the Greater Bay Area through the showcasing, trading, and discussion of intellectual property achievements.     Representative from HKBU’s start-up Tadreamk Limited and Dr Mike Ng, Senior Manager of the Knowledge Transfer Office at HKBU, attended this significant event and engaged in meaningful discussions with local entities to explore collaboration opportunities.     TadReamk Limited specialises in machine learning, leveraging advanced image processing and neural network-based models to provide comprehensive trademark solutions, including infringement searches and interactive trademark creation.    The expo was co-hosted by key organisations, including the Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation (Guangdong Intellectual Property Administration), the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality, the Intellectual Property Department of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Government of the Macao SAR.    Thank you to all involved in making this event a success!  #HKBU #hkbukto #knowledgetransfer #technologytransfer #innovation#technology #GBA #IP
