    Huge congratulations to my colleague Lodewijk Vriens, part of HKEX's strategy team who ran over 100 kilometres earlier this month to win the 2024 Oxfam Trailwalker event in Hong Kong as part of the ‘Joint Dynamics – Gone Running’ team.   Check out this video of Lodewijk and his teammates, published on HKEX's internal platforms today, where he shares his unique experience, and explains that the traits that led him to victory i.e. resilience, teamwork and energy, are also hallmarks of the HKEX spirit.

  • HKEX was pleased to host the second HKEX China Conference today in Shanghai, with over 300 guests across the financial community joining us at the event! HKEX CEO Bonnie Y Chan launched the event with opening remarks that counted the achievements and developments of the Connect programmes over the past 10 years, and how Connect has opened up China’s capital markets to international investors and accelerated the progress of RMB internationalisation. Senior HKEX executives including Deputy CEO Wilfred Yiu, Co-Head of Markets Glenda So, Chief China Economist Prof. Shusong BA, and Co-Head of Trading Sally Kwok took part in various panel discussions on the future of the Connect programme, and traded thoughts with counterparts from the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. We look forward to the next decade of Connect with more cooperation and innovation to come!

  • HKEX and Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (HSIL) celebrated the launch of the Hang Seng HKEX Stock Connect China Enterprises Index with a market open ceremony. The new index gives investors a comprehensive benchmark to measure the performance of the biggest companies in the vibrant Stock Connect universe.   HKEX CEO Bonnie Y Chan and Hang Seng Bank Chief Executive Diana Cesar struck the gong to kickstart trading of the new index, the first co-branded index between HKEX and HSIL! They were joined by Hang Seng Bank Chairman Irene Lee, HKEX Deputy CEO Wilfred Yiu, Co-Head of Markets Glenda So, Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited Chairman Gilbert LEE, and CEO Anita Mo to commemorate the debut.   We look forward to providing investors with even more choice and opportunity, and to continue supporting the development of Hong Kong’s capital markets product ecosystem!
