Finding her voice: Meet Nicole Kretschmer, Deputy HR Manager at STERNAUTO Nicole Kretschmer’s professional career began with an apprenticeship as a bank clerk, followed by a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in HR management. She joined STERNAUTO in 2016 as an HR Generalist before becoming a Team Leader in 2020 and Deputy HR Manager in 2023. On the early years of her HR career path, Nicole says: “It was always important for me to take responsibility early on, and to merge my steadily growing passion for numbers with that for people.”. She found the perfect platform to do just that. “STERNAUTO offers real space for ideas as well as the implementation of ideas, where everyone has a chance to take responsibility and initiate positive developments. I firmly believe that you can make something good out of any situation - with the right attitude and mindset. The market forces us to constantly adapt and develop, and it is STERNAUTO’s willingness to adapt and innovate that is pronounced in our team.” Nicole’s professional life has also influenced her personal life: "I have learned to set clear boundaries. At the same time, I now leave my comfort zone ever so often - in order to grow beyond myself and to continually improve myself. Tough Mudder provides the ultimate obstacle course challenge over a 5k or 15k run, and offers obstacles with very intimidating names - like Kiss of Mud, Everest, Mudderhorn and Electroshock Therapy. Fast-paced, exhausting and demanding split second decisions, it’s a challenge that requires teams to pull together to conquer the course. STERNAUTO recently held a Mercedes-Benz Drive Day for a special group of customers. The group, Jungzahnärzte-Stammtischs, comprises young dentists who meet regularly. Starting from STERNAUTO’s Magdeburg showroom, the road trip event provided a rare opportunity for the special guests to bond with a fleet of Mercedes-Benz models over a 170km stretch of breathtaking landscapes. A highlight of the day was the rejuvenating stop at Kaffeemänner Rösterei & Manufaktur in Aschersleben where they not only enjoyed superb coffee and refreshments but were also given an educational tour on the craft of coffee processing. There were smiles all around and along the entire event - with the brightest smiles being behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz. The qualifying round of the LSH Auto Australia Golf Cup for those in Melbourne took place at the Victoria Golf Club, one of Melbourne’s famous sand-belt courses. A total of 55 LSH Auto Melbourne’s guests participated and it included some very special guests: Radio personality Jason Richardson, Paris Olympics hurdler Tayleb Willis, broadcaster and columnist Steve Price, comedian Sam Taunton, Chief Mercedes-Benz Driver Trainer Peter Hackett, jockey Damien Oliver and the founder of the Chain Reaction Foundation Berrick Wilson. The competition, supported by excellent hospitality, resulted in six category winners who now have the opportunity to compete in the LSH Auto Australia Golf Cup Final which will be held early next year at Tasmania’s stunning Barnbougle course on the Apple Ilse’s North-East coast. Participants, once again, helped to contribute funds towards a worthy cause - on this occasion, the Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation, which has enjoyed long support from LSH Auto Australia, and which, through its annual corporate week-long cycle rides, raises funds in support of children’s charities. STERNAUTO participated at the 13th East German Energy Forum held at the Gewandhaus concert hall in Leipzig last month. 500 guests and participants from politics, science, the energy industry, East German SMEs and members of the public attended the intensive 2-day think thank event which featured over 50 speakers. The East German Energy Forum is an important platform where experts and decision-makers from various fields meet to discuss the future of sustainable energy and the challenges of energy transition. For STERNAUTO, the forum offers the opportunity to actively participate in the discussions, make valuable contacts and present its commitment to a sustainable energy future. On site, STERNAUTO presented two sustainable electric models, the eVito and the EQT, and staff were on hand to offer the many e-opportunities for private individuals and companies from its leading brand, Mercedes-Benz. 3 winners, 3 charities. The winners of LSH Auto Australia’s Choice Awards 2024 for Q2 have been announced: Joshua Mikael, Technician at LSH Auto Sydney. Josh joined in 2019 and continues to win over colleagues with his passion working on some of the most advanced vehicles in the world. His charity of choice is Aspect Australia, in support of children with autism and ADHD. Daniel Gilbert, Workshop Manager at LSH Auto Melbourne. Daniel is loved for his positive influence on team culture and his contributions across the wide area of service operations. His chosen charity is Guide Dogs Victoria which provides vital support for Victorians with low vision or blindness. Jamie Apps, Pre-Delivery Supervisor at LSH Auto Brisbane. Jamie joined in early 2022 and has been a key player in ensuring the delivery of outstanding levels of quality in vehicle preparation and presentation. His chosen charity is Legacy Australia, in support of families of Australian military veterans. The quarterly LSH Auto Choice Awards recognises team members who have been nominated by their peers for outstanding contribution to team spirit and workplace effectiveness. Donation of funds by LSH Auto Australia are then given to the charity of each awardee’s choice. It’s the Awards that keep on giving.
