Impact Innovation Lab's "The Idea Generation & Prototyping Bootcamp was held at Quarryside on February 15–16. After completing the first phase of experiential activities, the second phase combined design thinking and business model teaching to help participants understand their target audience's needs and develop feasible social innovation solutions. During Day 1, participants leveraged several tools including empathy maps, user journey maps, and 'Theory of Change' maps to identify target users' pain points and develop potential solutions. They then learned about building business models and conducted research. Three social entrepreneurs from our incubation programme shared their insights with the participants in the last session. We are grateful to Pui Ying, founder of "Formation: Beyond The Clay"; Yoyo, co-founder of "AutoShh"; and Ivan, co-founder of "Health Journey" for sharing their project achievements and future plans. And thanks to Quarryside for providing this excellent event space. Stay tuned for Day 2 highlights! #Cohort7 #ImpactInnovationLab #創效實現室 #MakerBay #SIEFund #社創基金 #SocialInnovation #社會創新 #精準扶貧 #DesignThinking #Incubation #Makerspace #CapitalSeed #Ideation #Prototyping

Impact Innovation Lab's "The Idea Generation & Prototyping Bootcamp" for Cohort 7 was a great success. From February 10–13, 2025, participants engaged in three experiential activities, which helped them understand challenges faced by underprivileged communities, develop innovative solutions to poverty, and learn about how to operate social enterprises. The activities included “Guided Tour: Searching for the Traces of Tong Lau (Wanchai Edition)”, discovering the stories behind the historic Tong Lau, and “Time Travel HK: Stimulation Programme on Ageing”, gaining perspective on the daily struggles of the elderly. Additionally, Celeste Yeung, Co-founder & COO of 糕點時光 TIME TO GOLD, and Erica Chan, Co-founder of Summer Production, shared their social entrepreneurship journeys with our participants. We are truly impressed by the limitless creativity of our students! 😊 Recently, we collaborated with Clean Air Network to conduct an engaging workshop where secondary school students had the opportunity to build their own Arduino air quality sensors from the ground up. This initiative not only introduced them to coding but also emphasized the importance of environmental awareness. 💪🏻 Witnessing their focused engagement and the joy they experienced upon successfully completing their sensors was incredibly inspiring. We look forward to seeing how they will leverage these skills and innovative ideas to contribute to improving air quality in their schools! 🌱✨ #YouthInnovation #MakerEducation #ArduinoCoding #EnvironmentalEducation #STEMlearning #CleanAir #HongKong #StudentEngagement #EducationForSustainability

**Exciting Update: Design Thinking Teacher Training Completed!** 😊✨ Previously, we had the privilege of conducting training for educators from St. Edward's Catholic Primary School to delve into the principles of design thinking. 🎯 Transitioning from theory to practical application, the teachers engaged deeply with two significant challenges: 1️⃣ Enhancing school safety 2️⃣ Addressing the mosquito issue It was inspiring to witness their innovative solutions! One team created a thoughtful power strip cover to enhance safety, while another identified that issues with the water sink could be contributing to mosquito breeding. 🤔💡 The essence of design thinking lies in transforming ideas into actionable solutions, moving beyond mere discussion to tangible impact! 💪 #DesignThinking #TeacherTraining #Education #Innovation #STEM #ProfessionalDevelopment #CreativeSolutions #HongKongEducation #ActionableInsights
