With many NGOs facing difficulties in offering competitive salaries, the focus was on aligning employee benefits to reflect organizational values to recruit and retain talent. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: -𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤-𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Flexible work-from-home options and generous leave policies are becoming standard. -𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬: Comprehensive mental health support programs and unique leave options (such as pet care) are on the rise. -𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Salary increment is determined by a number of factors including individual, organizational, and economic performances. Some organizations are exploring a reduced work schedule to compensate for salary cut among senior leaders. -𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Career growth needs vary between junior and senior staff, and organizations are setting budgets aside to cover for personal development initiatives. -𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬: Some organizations are reviewing retirement policies to better support ageing staff, extending parental leave, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. As we navigate these changes, conducting ongoing employee needs assessments is crucial to ensure benefits reflect the evolving and diverse needs of the workforce, and become a tool to retain and attract new talent.
