Purple Tuesday 2024 centered around the theme of 'Celebrating Accessibility.' As a founding partner and the HK Ambassador for Purple Tuesday, Sensational Foundation brought five representatives together, from a variety of industries, to share their best practices, for attendees to adapt and replicate in their own companies, allowing them to improve their disabled customers' experiences. While we celebrated in Hong Kong, the Piccadilly Lights in London shone proudly in purple, to remind us that accessibility is a basic human right. By creating a more accessible world, we are not only helping those with disabilities, we are also working towards the betterment of society. To learn more about how to implement accessible measures within your company, please contact admin@sensationalhk.org A big thank you to all our partners and speakers: JLL, MTR Corporation Limited 香港鐵路有限公司, Manulife, HSBC, Equal Opportunities Commission, Standard Chartered, Leathwaite, Ulrike Klemm, Bosco Leung (he/him), Doris Tsui, Sita Ng, Robert Hsu, Charlene Overend, Mike Adams, Mariam Farooq, Simple Kan #SensationalFoundation #WeAreSensational #Disability #DisabilityAwareness #ThinkAccessibility #PurpleTuesday #Accessibility #Inclusion

It was an honour to have our Founder & CEO, Faride Shroff, selected as a Finalist at the Community Business Asia Awards 2024 in the category of Creating Social Impact. There is so much desire to make positive change in Hong Kong, and this evening, the room was filled with individuals and companies who are going above and beyond to make a difference. It was a pleasure seeing existing supporters and creating new partnerships with like-minded individuals, who are looking to expand their presence in the DE&I space. Congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners! An invisible disability is a physical, mental or neurological condition that is not visible from the outside, but it can still limit or challenge a person’s movements, senses, or activities. Unfortunately, the very fact that these symptoms are invisible can lead to misunderstandings, false perceptions, and harsh judgments. Invisible disabilities can lead to symptoms like debilitating pain, fatigue, dizziness, cognitive dysfunctions, brain injuries, learning difficulties and mental health disorders, as well as hearing and vision impairments. As humans, we tend to make snap judgements about someone, based on their outward appearance. So instead, let's move beyond conceptualising disability as being purely physically visible, and remember the importance of being kind, always. You never know what someone else might be going through - and there is often more than meets the eye. If you or your company would like to learn more about invisible disabilities, please contact admin@sensationalhk.org #SensationalFoundation #WeAreSensational #DisabilityInclusion #Disability #invisibledisability #letstalkaboutdisability

A huge thank you to CUHK Business School, their School of Hotel & Tourism Management and our wonderful Board member, Mr. KK Fung, for allowing us to be 'Professors for a Day'. We held an introductory workshop to raise awareness of disability and inclusion, for our future generational change-makers. Our fellow speakers, Ulrike Klemm (Geo-Chair of JLL), also provided some insight into #ESG and Siu Fong Yeung (a disabled performance artist) spoke about life with a disability. It was exciting to see the amount of enthusiasm shown for the topics, with the students posing great questions to all the speakers, and we hope that the key takeaways from the workshop will inspire the younger minds to make a #positivechange. #SensationalFoundation #WeAreSensational #Disability #disabilityawareness #workshop #CUHK #professorsforaday

DE&I in the workplace is often a tricky area to navigate. It relies on employees who are willing to speak up for their core values and a leadership team with an open-minded approach, who are willing to listen. Once companies are able to provide an environment which facilitates equitable changes, embraces diversity and allows for inclusion, it creates a culture that brings about a sense of belonging. When employees feel as though they are heard, and treated fairly, this sense of belonging flourishes into heightened output, unique viewpoints and positivity. If you'd like to find out more about how you can implement this kind of a corporate culture in your workplace, contact admin@sensationalhk.org to arrange a customised training seminar, to meet your needs. #sensationalfoundation #wearesensational #DEI #positivechanges #senseofbelonging
