Invited by Construction Industry Council, SOCAM is honored to share our recent experience in using MIC to enhance efficiency in public housing construction for the community. The construction of the Anderson Road Quarry Site R2-7 project began in Q3 2022 and will feature 17 stories with 420 subsidised sale flats. This project not only employs the latest MiC 1.5 technology but also integrates 4D Building Information Modelling (BIM), the Smart Site Safety System (4S) and robotics to improve construction safety and efficiency.  As we step into 2025, we take this opportunity to reflect on the Shui On Spirit : humbly pursuing excellence while boldly embracing innovation and change. Last Sunday, SOCAM celebrates the season of giving with a weekend filled with joy and passion. Our employees gathered at the Chinese YWCA Wu Kai Sha Youth Village for the annual Shui On Seagull Club Charity Walk cum fun day, dedicated to supporting elderly well-being. With the community in mind, we proudly support the Chinese YWCA Centre's programs for the elderly. In November, our team arranged a site visit to our public housing construction project in Sheung Shui with representatives from the Hong Kong Housing Authority, when we shared the result of a pilot project that showcase the use of robots to enhance worker safety and health. Traditional grinding and painting processes generates fine dust particles which, if exposed for long, can lead to respiratory-related concerns. To address this, we explored adopting a state-of-the-art robot designed specifically for these tasks, and we are excited to report the automation rate of painting tasks by 80%, while maintaining high-quality standards. As research continues on optimizing the use of robotics in construction, our commitment to innovation ensures that we remain at the forefront of creating safer and more efficient construction environments. #SOCAMDevelopment #Robotics #Healthcare #Safety #SmartConstruction

SOCAM and GIHRD celebrated the conclusion of a year-long youth development programme with a grand graduation ceremony at Central Market in late September. We are grateful to have been guided by Mr. Eddie Ng, Former Secretary for Education of HKSAR, Prof. Enoch Young, Former Director of HKU SPACE, and SOCAM's CEO Mr. Freddy Lee.   Working with like-minded partners and teachers, the programme is one of SOCAM's many persistent efforts to serve the community. By focusing on topics such as urban development and early lifelong planning, and introducing various pathways from engineering and property investment to construction technology, we aim to equip students with a forward-thinking mindset, and show them how they can play a role in the various possibilities ahead.   The ceremony concluded with a guided tour to Central Market, allowing students to explore its revitalised charm. SOCAM is thrilled to take part in the “幸福家族．繽FUN屋邨計劃” project launched by the Housing Bureau. With a handful of public housing estates joining the exciting initiative, this maintenance project factors in two goals: building exterior murals and landscape improvement.   Sun Chui Estate in Shatin has almost 40 years of history. We commemorate this refurbishment not only by regular maintenance but beautifying a place to foster a close-knit community. By pairing the community with bright and cheerful squirrel visuals, we can transform the living space into a colorful canvas of comfort and energy!   Housing needs more than just accommodation and accessibility.
