As new trends drive the growth of wealth management in China, we are witnessing a fresh wave of innovative development in the industry. At the 2024 Cross-Straits and Hong Kong-Macau Banking Wealth Management Forum, jointly hosted by China Banking Association, Financial News (金融时报) and HKIB, a strong lineup of speakers shared their insights on new quality productive forces and capturing emerging opportunities in the wealth management industry. We were thrilled to see nearly 300 delegates from over 80 financial institutions and regulators come together to exchange their knowledge. Themed “New Trends, New Opportunities, New Development”, the forum highlights the need to maintain high professional standards of service. In recognition of exceptional talent that embodies those standards, we also proudly announced the winners of the 13th Outstanding Wealth Manager Skills Competition. An exciting journey of learning is underway as the Future Banking Bridging Programme begins, with over 300 university students in Hong Kong taking part! The programme, jointly hosted by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and HKIB, featured interactive sessions covering fundamental knowledge on the B.E.S.T key skills, including the GBA, ESG, Soft skills and Technology. It was a unique opportunity for students looking to explore a banking career to network and hear from the experts. Four distinguished industry leaders shared their insights on these key topics, while nearly 30 banking practitioners joined the students in group discussions. The student groups are now using the practical takeaways to prepare presentations for their next session. The best performing teams will have an invaluable chance to experience “A Day as a Banker”.
