We must put a stop to this as cases are getting out of hand. The Fair Work Ombudsman secured $5.14 million in penalties against a kids' fashion retailer for exploiting four migrant workers and obstructing inspectors despite prior warnings. The Federal Court found $131,920 in underpayments, with wages as low as $10 per hour, and serious breaches of record-keeping and pay slip laws under the Protecting Vulnerable Workers reforms. The penalties, the 3rd highest secured by the Ombudsman this year, include back-pay orders with superannuation and interest.
