We specifically wanted a self-catering holiday this year, after several years of doing all-inclusive. We went for these apartments mainly as they ticked a lot of what we wanted as well as the positive reviews. We stayed on the 9th floor of 14, and although I like to think myself as pretty fit, the lift was an essential part of our stay. The first impressions of the lift were that they were a little cramped and warm, but we soon got into the hang of using them. And this wasn't a problem at any part of our trip. There are also 4 of them, so regular as clock work. We booked a room with an extra bedroom given that we have two kids and wanted our own space. The room was an instant hit. Spacious. Two bedrooms, a kitchen room, a bathroom, and a living area with a couch/sofa bed and dining table. The balcony was a gem. We chose a side seaview, and it was L shaped and went right around our room. Accessable from our bedroom, as well as the living area. The views were fantastic both of the sea/beach and the mountains behind. We got the sun before it went down, which I particularly enjoyed. The kids ended up staying on the sofa bed as their bedroom didn't have air con and the living area did, and they said they had the comfiest sleep ever - together too! Having air con is essential on holiday. The only point worth noting is that the outside units dripped water into buckets, and these needed emptying regularly. Otherwise, they overspilt on the balcony. I'm not sure if this was just an issue with ours, and I didn't feel the need to report it as it wasn't a problem for me. It became one of my daily tasks - along with sweeping the sand up, we'd brought back the apartment! But I wanted to call it out as others may not feel the same way. The maid regularly dropped fresh towels in and changed the small bin. I found myself regularly taking our rubbish to one of the nearby underground recycling/rubbish points on the street. Which were very handy. I used a reusable supermarket bag as an extra bin, so it was easy enough to carry our rubbish. As people will read, you access the pool via a secure door, located on the public street. Sounds weird, but it isn't, and we soon became used to it. I was up handy to get us a couple of beds, but there wasn't a need. Felt like there was enough to go around even in mid-August. And people didn't tend to leave them unoccupied for long periods, which was great. So, there was plenty of opportunity to get one throughout the day. The pool was pretty small but did its job. And everyone got along. It's not really ideal for swimming in when busy if that's your thing. But the kids enjoyed it. Deep end was deep at over 2 metres. And shallow end was shallow at a metre or so. Sound little pool. There's a restaurant/bar accessible from inside the reception area and poolside serving drinks and snacks throughout the day. It specialises in Dutch pancakes with all the fillings as well as the more traditional Spanish dishes. We enjoyed food and drinks
