This is a review specifically of Quan spa at Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel, a decision which was considered without too much deliberation, unlike how I would normally go about assessing such an establishment. A bit wary while choosing at the time, primarily because there was not much information online (and probably because the hotel itself is new), at the end of the experience, I can only thank my gut and intuition for a splendid therapy session! And of course, intuition apart, all credit goes to the extremely skilled therapists (Akha ?, I didn't quite get the other therapist's name who was assigned to my friend) and the spa manager (Aren) who together came across as some of the most professional and talented spa workforce I have encountered in a long travel history. The hotel I am told is relatively new and it shows in the rooms and fitments; everything exudes urban charm and functionality. With most hotels, even in the semi-luxury tier, It isn't uncommon to experience breakdown in some aspects of a spa experience, such as tidyness, ineffective steam room or bath towels that have a weird odour to them. Nothing of that sort here, the steaming is on par with the best and it works perfectly without scalding your skin. The spa chamber is sufficiently large and is sensibly furnished with muted tones to add to the calming experience. Both the therapists employed at the time were extremely skilled and took their craft seriously, which showed in the results- I was thoroughly rejuvenated. Aren, the spa manager, came across as friendly and walked us through the process effortlessly. If you are looking for a top notch and professional spa experience, I would not just highly recommend, but would confidently persuade you to opt for a therapy session at Quan spa. Deep Tissue at most places I have been in the past seem more like a glorified aromatherapy session- you can hardly feel any pressure, or it ends up causing pain rather than soothing your pain points. The therapists are clearly in a different league here- their techniques and ability to almost reset yourself from accumulated stress and fatigue is undeniably laudable and supremely effective. And frankly, overshadow most of the previous experiences I have had at spas of top tier hotel brands. And the bonus? A 90 minute massage is 90 minutes by the clock, and does not include paperwork- no cutting corners or being short-changed! I have an upcoming trip that passes through the area and I can't wait to de-stress again! p.s. If you're having a rather heavy lunch at Nazara (rooftop- fantastic and hearty fare!), allow at least an hour and half or two, before you opt for something like a deep tissue therapy.
