Reaching New Heights in Shanghai
Visiting Shanghai is like stepping into the future while still touching the past. The city, with its vibrant energy and awe-inspiring skyline, is a symbol of China’s rapid transformation. Amid the hustle and bustle, the Shanghai Tower stands as a true testament to this evolution.
I recently had the opportunity to visit this magnificent structure, and what an experience it was! Standing at 632 meters, the Shanghai Tower is the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world. The sprawling metropolis seemed to stretch endlessly, with the Huangpu River winding like a ribbon through the heart of the city. The contrast between the modern skyscrapers and the historic Bund along the waterfront was striking.
At the top, the world seemed at my feet, and for a moment, I felt like I was witnessing the pulse of a city that never stops. The panoramic views left me in awe of human ingenuity. Shanghai, with its blend of innovation and tradition, is truly a place where dreams are built and reach the skies. It’s a city that leaves a lasting impression, one that makes you feel both humbled and inspired.
If you ever get the chance to visit Shanghai, don’t miss the Shanghai Tower—it’s not just a view; it’s an experience that will stay with you long after you’ve left. #shanghai

In Zootopia anyone could be anything!
If you’re heading to Shanghai Disneyland, here’s the game plan for a magical start to your day!
Early Park Entry Pass is absolutely worth it. You’ll get into the park 1–1.5 hours before the general crowd, and trust me—it’s a game-changer. I managed to conquer three major rides before 9:30 AM. Skip the Premier Access—it’s not necessary at all if you play your cards right.
Now, about getting there: many hotels offer free shuttles to Disney, but here’s the catch—they usually don’t run before 7:30 AM. So if you’re team Early Entry, plan ahead!
Hungry? Forget overpriced meals in the park. Disneytown is where it’s at! Tons of restaurants are just a short walk from the gates, and the prices won’t make you cry into your Mickey-shaped snacks.
Photos with characters? Be prepared to wait. The lines are long, and Disney cast members don’t rush anyone—which is great for the perfect photo, but not so great if you’re next in line.
Finally, do not miss the pawpsicles at Zootopia. So cute. So refreshing. So necessary.
Enjoy every magical moment!

Shanghai & Tongli Wow!
#chinatrip during cold December was awesome. Explored #shanghai and #Tongliwatertown. Yuyuan Gardens never fail to amaze with the Chinese goods. Starbucks Roastery though a bit expensive but worth a visit for their specially crafted coffee drinks. Head to Tongli Water Town through Suzhou by bullet train to visit the Venice of China and explore a little Chinese ancient town. Go on a weekday to avoid crowds! End off the trip by exploring more of Shanghai that must include the famous Shanghai Museum.
Shanghai Museum
#familytravel to Shanghai and visiting Shanghai Museum. We were asked to book this special exhibition to enter the museum as the free entries to the museum had already sold out. The reservation needs at least a week or two ahead to secure the free entry. If the museum is sold out, do not rush to buy like us. It was utterly crowded and noisy. You could not view a single exhibit in peace. The paid special exhibition were three galleries on ground floor. The price we paid for was a bit hefty. The Chinese galleries were awesome. Go for this if you can get the free entries. #shanghai

Shanghai | Nice brunch place with friends in Pudong district
The whole restaurant had such a nice vibe—very cozy yet reminiscent of British style. The location is perfect near LuJiaZui.
🍳 Brunch Options:
Smoked Salmon Omelette: The mushrooms inside were incredibly fragrant, the salmon had a slightly salty flavor, and the omelette itself was perfectly crispy. It’s light enough for a morning meal.
🍕 Black Truffle Pizza: The truffle aroma was absolutely divine! The pizza wasn’t super thin-crust, and the mushrooms were a great touch.
🥗 Fig & Prosciutto Salad: With buffalo mozzarella, it had a rich, creamy taste that wasn’t overwhelming. The sweetness of the figs paired perfectly with the salty prosciutto, achieving a great balance.
🍝 Bolognese Pasta: The addition of cherry tomatoes brought a slight hint of sweetness—highly recommended.
☕ Coffee lovers, you’ll find good options here too!

Shanghai Toy Story Hotel!
Today we are staying at the Toy Story Hotel in Shanghai. I must say, it is magnificent. The decorations are filled with themes from the Toy Story movie, and you can take pictures at every corner of the hotel. Additionally, the hotel has a shop that sells Toy Story souvenirs. Another advantage of staying here is that you get to enter Disneyland an hour earlier than everyone else. It's definitely worth it. If you are a fan, you must not miss this.

Take stylish photos in the morning at The Bund Shanghai
The morning atmosphere at The Bund Shanghai offers a unique beauty. I recommend taking photos both in the morning and at night, as both times provide stunning results. You can also see the Oriental Pearl Tower.
In the morning, there aren't many people around. Don't forget to take a picture with the bull statue, an important landmark.
I visited in early December 2024. It was very cold, around 11 degrees Celsius. Make sure to bring warm clothing.
It was my first time in Shanghai, and I fell in love with the city. The people are friendly, and I love the convenience of transportation and spending. It's really great. 🤎🫶🏻
Following in the footsteps of celebrities, dine on crab roe noodles at a luxury restaurant in Shanghai.
One dish that you must not miss when you come to Shanghai is crab roe noodles. No matter where you go in Shanghai, you will find many restaurants offering this dish. We did some research from locals and found the restaurant Cejerdary. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, we knew it was extraordinary. The place is luxurious and grand, with pictures of celebrities all over the walls. Since there were only two of us, we decided to order just three dishes because we heard that the portions here are large. While waiting for the food, we were served aromatic roasted peanuts that smelled like butter. Here are our reviews of the dishes we ordered:
🌟Crab Roe Noodles: The noodles were perfectly tender, and there was a generous amount of crab meat, crab roe, and crab eggs. Unlike some places that use chicken eggs, this dish was packed with crab goodness, which explains the high price. The flavor was mild, not very strong, which might not suit Thai people who prefer bold flavors.
🌟Crab Roe Fried Rice: Served in a large bowl, this dish also had a lot of crab meat and crab roe. The taste was well-balanced and very delicious.
🌟Marinated Crab in Moutai: The flavor was mildly sweet and salty with a hint of sour sauce to balance it out. The aroma of Moutai liquor was noticeable. This dish is a bit pricey, but worth trying at least once.😂
📍Address: Cejerdary

Peace of Mind at Longhua Temple
I went to Longhua Temple with my family. It’s a temple that locals visit to pay their respects. After walking around the temple, near the exit, there’s a cafeteria selling vegetarian noodles and snacks. In the cafeteria area, no one comes to collect money, it’s all self-service. Each table has a QR code for payment, so after you’re done eating, you just pay on your own. It gives off this vibe of mutual trust, which I really liked. The atmosphere felt friendly and welcoming.
Aside from the cafeteria where you can sit and eat, they also sell packaged snacks like Chinese cakes, mochi-style treats, and crispy pastries—perfect as gifts. They’re around 20 yuan per box. There’s also a teahouse that sells tea sets (I can’t remember the exact price, but it was on the higher side) and has a time limit for how long you can sit. The teahouse interior is beautifully decorated in traditional Chinese style.
As for Longhua Temple itself, I enjoyed the overall atmosphere and experience more than the architecture. I’ve been to quite a few Chinese temples, so the architecture didn’t feel particularly special to me.
If you’re a cat lover, the garden at the very back of the temple is basically a cat haven. Visitors seem to love taking pictures of the cats. The cats here are such great models—they pose and don’t even run away from people~

Another popular photo spot for Chinese PR. Guaranteed by the number of photographers and models. But since this area is not very large, if you want to take photos without people and don't have to wait in line for a long time, I recommend coming early in the morning.

Shanghai at Christmas: A Festive Fusion of East and West
#magicalxmastrip #shanghai
Shanghai, with its vibrant mix of modernity and tradition, takes on a unique charm during the Christmas season. While Christmas is not a traditional holiday in China, the city embraces the festive spirit with enthusiasm, creating an unforgettable experience for locals and visitors alike.
One of the highlights of Christmas in Shanghai is its dazzling light displays. The Bund, with its iconic skyline, becomes even more mesmerizing with Christmas-themed projections and festive illuminations. Strolling along the waterfront, you’ll find beautifully decorated buildings and trees that create a magical holiday atmosphere.
Shanghai’s luxury malls, such as Xintiandi, Plaza 66, and IFC Mall, spare no expense in celebrating the season. Extravagant Christmas trees, elaborate decorations, and live music performances make these shopping centers more than just retail spaces—they’re festive destinations in their own right. The bustling markets, like the ones at Yuyuan Garden, offer unique Christmas gifts with a blend of traditional Chinese and Western influences.
For a more immersive experience, head to the Shanghai Christmas Market in the Pudong district. Inspired by European markets, it features wooden stalls selling mulled wine, gingerbread, and handcrafted ornaments, bringing a touch of Europe to the heart of Asia.
If you’re in search of a spiritual experience, Shanghai’s international churches, such as St. Ignatius Cathedral, host beautiful Christmas Eve masses with carols sung in multiple languages, offering a sense of global unity.
What makes Shanghai unique at Christmas is its ability to blend global traditions with its own modern, cosmopolitan culture. From glitzy decorations to festive events, Shanghai offers a multicultural Christmas experience that’s both vibrant and memorable. Whether you’re shopping, dining, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, Shanghai during Christmas is a delightful celebration of East meets West.

New Attractions in 2024
#New places to visit in 2024
Today, I will recommend a late-night restaurant on Nanjing Road.
Whether you are looking for something to eat after returning from Disneyland
or hungry late at night
or want to find something to eat with sugarcane juice🍻🍻
I recommend this place. There are many restaurants.
But I have tried two restaurants, so I will review them first.
The first restaurant is Half-boiled rice small brewery (People's Square Branch)
The second restaurant is Half-boiled rice small brewery (Nanjing Road Branch 100)
Both restaurants are close to each other. The first restaurant is in a building. You have to enter through a small alley and take the elevator to eat because it is a restaurant in a shopping mall. The mall closes late at night, but the outside elevator opens to allow the restaurant area to open.
The other restaurant is in the back. Walk around the building and you will find it.
The building is a shopping mall located at People Square Station Exit 19.
Come out and walk to the left. You will find the Nanjing East Road shopping mall. Then turn right. You will find a road next to the mall. Find the entrance next to KFC.
Or simply pin the shop and walk straight.
The first shop is a fun bar.
Half-boiled spit roaster (People Square shop) is a bit more expensive.
It is sold as a set of three sticks. The taste is delicious and spicy.
A large glass of beer. There is a small stove to light and warm the food.
The second shop澈久以前羊肉串 (Nanjing Road 100 Store)
This store is a skewers type that is grilled in front of us. It is a rotating stove. I like that the store has a gel sheet to reduce the heat. It does not make your face hot. It is suitable for those who like grilling but do not like the heat.
😁😁 As for ordering, the store has Thai language. It is not exactly correct, but you can order. If you ask for ice, they will give you a bucket like in Thai. After eating, they also give you free milk ice cream. It is very delicious. You can ask for more. Hehe
When I went up the elevator, I saw many more stores. Every store looked delicious.
If anyone goes there and wants to try other stores, you can. There are many stores in just one alley. It is a good place to find food late at night.
🥰🥰

Shanghai | Nice Bistro on Fumin Road with road view
BISTRO11
📍 179 Fumin Road, 1st Floor
Visited this charming bistro with a friend. The atmosphere was fantastic, located in the bustling Jufu Chang area, and it was quite crowded.
Fried Scallop Spinach Salad with Uni Sauce
The scallops weren’t overly fishy, and the combination of spinach, arugula, and uni sauce was unexpectedly delightful!
Burrata Cheese with Ham and Homemade Osmanthus Vinegar
The burrata was creamy and flavorful without being overly rich, paired beautifully with the dry and slightly salty Italian-style ham. The osmanthus vinegar added a unique touch.
Icelandic Skate Fish with Mussel and Crayfish Sauce
The fish skin was crispy, the flesh tender and fresh, and the dish was elevated by the creamy mussel and crayfish sauce.
French Fries with Hollandaise Sauce
Freshly fried, crispy, and perfectly paired with the rich, tangy hollandaise sauce.
Lemon Tart
Beautifully presented, the tart was balanced—not overly sour—making it an excellent, palate-cleansing dessert.

Shanghai | Authentic Shanghai food in Pudong with good interior design
Rose Shanghai
📍 Shop L138, West Zone, 288 Qianjiaotan Road,
On this trip to Shanghai, I indulged in a lot of classic Shanghainese cuisine. While exploring the area near Taikoo Li Qiantan, I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. The ambiance was great, and the staff provided excellent service.
Crab Roe Tofu
The crab roe was incredibly fresh, and the tofu was exceptionally tender. Served fresh and hot, it was an absolute delight with no fishy taste at all.
Green Peas
The peas were cooked to perfection, tender and refreshing, with added ham and yam for a clean, crisp flavor.
Garlic Crispy Fried Chicken
The chicken had a crispy skin that wasn’t greasy, while the meat inside was juicy and flavorful—every bite was tender and satisfying.
Wasabi Prawns
The prawns were impressively large, with a crispy outer layer and a hint of wasabi adding a spicy kick.
Yellow Croaker Rolls in Wine Sauce
The fish was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a slightly sweet sauce that’s perfect for Shanghainese tastes.
Stir-Fried Pig Liver in Soy Sauce
It’s been ages since I’ve had liver this good! Cooking liver at home is tricky, so I prefer having it at restaurants. The sauce was sweet but not cloying, full of rich flavors—classic “red-braised” Shanghai-style.
Grilled Rice Cake with Eggplant
A surprisingly delicious combination of eggplant and sticky rice cakes. The rice cakes were chewy, and the eggplant, mixed with minced meat, was fragrant and savory.
Rice Wine Soup with Glutinous Rice Balls
This dish was slightly underwhelming; the rice wine flavor could have been stronger.
Price:150 RMB per person
