Bluehost (may still actually have that aspect attached to it) but it’s not in my house!
I managed to have a website up and running in less then an hour, and it was all very affordable.
Company that run the “AutoRenew” Scam as I call it. Any product has autorenew enabled, they send you an email notification no where near the renewal date in the hope you think “Ill sort it later” (that I didn’t receive) and wont refund it as its in the T&Cs and “out of policy” to refund. Avoid and go elsewhere to a better company. (it’s actually done me a favour as I only lost the money on a domain hosting and have more expensive services I require next year!)

As 20 year customer I am sad to say Customer Service is now HORRIBLE. Chat Support spent about 2 hours every time I call, and they will delete your website after 2 months if it expires and you will need to rebuild and buy a another hosting plan. When you reach out to customer service they have no idea how to help and do not understand web terminology.

Your service stinks. I never got what I ordered, none of your staff seem capable of fixing things or getting things working right and now, a couple of months after I thought my account was closed, I find I’m being charged monthly for something I never ordered. NOT IMPRESSED.
Websites are extremely slow and pricing is deceiving. I’ve been using them for years. Never happy about it but too lazy to migrate my 50+ sites. Performance is just bad, even with a decently priced plan, but hey you can’t ask for gold paying for silver. But what is truly disappointing is their deceiving pricing. Every year they try to change pricing on you and don’t have a clear explanation for why. When you call them out and ask for a reason, they come up with a discount, but they cannot explain where the price increase came from. It’s just tiring having to go through this every year with customer service and whats laughable is that they can’t never explain why they were trying to charge more and they just make up a discount, which is BS because they aren’t able to explain where the price to which they apply the discount is coming from.

I signed up for a site, I started working on it and then for unknown reasons I got locked out of my account.
Meanwhile I’m working on my site I put over 12 hours of work into it because I’m still able to access the WordPress and edit it.
I contact customer support because I can’t login to the Bluehost portion, the woman helps me and then opens a ticket up, then about 20 minutes later, they delete my account and refund me.
The PayPal transaction went through and was paid… nobody contacted me about anything or asked me questions or verification, they just deleted all my work I had already completed on the site.
I tried to call and I got a robot passing me around for 10 minutes before it hung up on me.
100% terrible experience, and it really sucks because I liked what was there so far and I was enjoying it, but to have your work just deleted with zero notice and nobody reaching out to you for questions really sucks and is shady.

I’m sorry, but I came from your EIG article and Bluehost is NOT thriving under ND. They’re coasting on name recognition but their business practices are going to sink them eventually.
Just this year, they tried to auto-renew me for a BS .online TLD for which they’d supposedly given me a free trial — I was never notified of this free trial, and there’s no evidence that mysite.online ever existed.
This week, they lost my hosting account. The site still exists and I can still access the Wordpress dashboard. But there’s no hosting account on display in my Bluehost backend and cPanel/FTP no longer connect. It’s as if they never existed. Tech support — both initial chat support and the “expedited” support — basically did nothing but play circus music at me while they shrugged and said ‘I dunno.’ This issue has been going on for days with no resolution.
I’m a developer with several clients and personal sites. This is my last site BH; I’ve kept this legacy site there for years through sheer inertia despite being well aware of much better web hosting services (NONE of them owned by EIG/ND, thank you very much).
My two recommendations are WP-Engine and Simply Hosting (the .net one). Both companies have decent pricing and great service for the cost, especially Simply Hosting.

All four representatives were professional, friendly, and customer service oriented. Three of the four were very knowledgeable and were able to assist to find a resolution to things discovered missing from my website after an automatic plugin wiped all images out. The first couldn’t figure it out, suggesting I have my web designer rebuild it. The next two fixed, but one tab. The final tried, but confirmed that there was nothing else they could do, and that this does happen with automatic plugins at times. I had to pay a web designer to fix it.

Bluehost has been my host of choice for many years, but recently something happened. I found my hosting plan had gone up to +$300 annually because I was in a professional plan. Maybe I did this, maybe I did this by mistake, maybe I didn’t. I can’t find any record.
BUT…when I tried to downgrade my plan to something more fitting for my needs and budget, Bluehost told me I couldn’t downgrade. Instead, I could cancel my current account, create a new account, and transfer files from one to the other. I took the opportunity to competitve shop and am now with a different provider.

I have been chatting with support everyday for the past three days on a single issue of a website downtime. Each time, i get a different excuse for the downtime. From claiming the codes are old, to server upgrade, to dns propagation and all they could think of.
Now they are avoiding by keeping me on hold for more than 10mins to resolve an issue of my website being down.
Even the CDN provider they used said the issue is from the host likewise a website monitoring tool they provide.
I need to launch websites very quickly. In some cases, I’ve run into trouble setting up email addresses or navigation menus. In all my interactions with tech support at Bluehost, I’ve found people willing to fix my problem even when it is marginally inside their responsibilities. Case in point tonight, Harshitta Shivamallappa spent time explaining how to fix my problem even though it was an issue with a third party supplier. That’s excellent service. I have had no ability to send or receive emails with my business for five days now.
Each day it’s a different ‘fix’ that doesn’t work. And im back on their terrible chat support system for another two hours .
My email was blocked by bluehost for over two weeks because my spam was maxed out they said. I use the forwarding feature to forward several email to my host email account. No one could figure out how to reset it for almost two weeks. What someone finally did I was told, was increase the limit on the spam and that seemed to fix it. I could not get into my website because the email was not working in bluehost. Bluehost sends a confirmation email to the not working email to enable login to my website so I could not receive the confirmation code to enter my website. Suggest choice of where to send confirmation and add cell phone message to send confirmation code. Emails are not always working.
I unfortunately didn’t get the name of the person who assisted me with this but I was unfortunately charged for the Wordpress Choice Plus hosting plan which I no longer needed due to the auto-renewal feature. The person who assisted me explained why I was charged even when with an expired card information. I called the next day I was charged thinking I was able to get a full refund based on the 30 day policy. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the full refund but was fortunate to have the hosting plan’s term changed to 3 months of the 36 months for a partial refund that came out to around $650 instead of the $719.64. Better any refund than none. Lesson learned, don’t enable the auto renew feature.
I couldn’t log into my /wp-admin site to make edits. I tried to watch Youtube videos and read articles which there were a few and felt confident I could de-but this issue myself. But, I couldn’t. So, I used the Bluehost chat and got help from Deeksha. They resolved it in under 3 minutes. What a relief! My wife’s website important to her business and Deeksha saved the day!

Although it took chatting with 3 different people, my issue was resolved. The 1st and last person were helpful; the 2nd one wasn’t. Swathi was the 3rd person with whom I chatted. S/he resolved my issue and provided guidance on something I needed to still do. They were most helpful and patient; I’m not a techy person so patience is important!
Five stars for Naiad. Solved my payment method mystery, for domain renewal. So friendly, patient, efficient. Then just before we were done, our phone call got disconnected. So Naiad called me back, twice, to update me. And got it all sorted out.
Bluehost used to be a great company, now the service is terrible and they have made it so you can’t contact anyone. It is NOT compatible with Outlook… sometimes you can kinda get it to work. The problem is that you have a staff in India that is reading out of a book and can’t fix anything. It takes time to migrate to another company, but I would rather lose a week worth of business than stay with this non caring company.
I’m not a web designer in any stretch of the word, but I love a challenge. I bought a theme a few years ago and launched into creating my website for my photography business. Through the few glitches I’ve experienced, I was hesitant to reach out thinking I was missing something obvious. Obvious or not, your team of assistants has been nothing short of amazing. Bluehost has been great. Most recently, a customer service rep named Prasad assisted me with my website after a critical error. The dreaded white page! They were able to identify the issue and correct it (disable the culprit) and allow my organization’s website to be up and running. I’m now able to remedy the problem behind the scenes.
Thanks to Sitalaxmi, who helped me solve my problem patiently without annoying me with my requests. I lost my website and do not have any idea how to connect to the correct domain. Then I was in trouble. I asked for help from Blue Host Team Messenger. Then Sitalaxmi solved the problem to get my site back. I really appreciate it.
I have a very bad experience with bluehost. I bought webserver space and found out my website cannot run on https. It has always had a problem, contacted bluehost multiple times. They do nothing and tell me it will refresh in 48hrs, call us if it doesn’t work. Called Bluehost multiple times but everytime same story. They ask all the info on repeat and do nothing. Paid them a fortune for no use, bluehost said they won’t refund.
Now recently they sent message blocking my domain as I have hosted something spam while the domain is not at all in use, neither I am using server. It’s just rubbish. All of my ko ey wasted.
Our church’s website home page suddenly disappeared and got replaced with an old temporary page. The Bluehost technician was able to figure out the issue very quickly and got us back up and running within 15 minutes. Were very impressed with your responsive customer service! Thank you so much!
I really don’t recommend it. Bluehost blocked my website and access to WORDPRES. They said they would contact me within 2 days and solve the problem. It’s been 2 weeks and nothing has happened to them. I asked for help 4 times. I really don’t recommend it
Luke expertly and smoothly consolidated my domains and payments under one account. Then switched all payments to PayPal.

My high hopes were dashed when the migration of my website ended up in the loss of ALL my content. There was no worthwhile assistance to address this problem, despite assurance in writing that “On Apr 15, 2024 – 1:36 AM we began restoring the content for your website, as you requested.” Instead we were told that we could pay extra for help from BlueHost. No way can I recommend it to anyone else for business or personal use!
Hired BH to build my site. The initial build was horrible, and it was difficult to tell what I was selling. My modifications for changes have been ignored and my time to make changes for no charge expired. Leadership extended it for 1 months and in another week that will also expire with most modifications ignored. It is impossible to talk to someone including leadership. I wish I knew before starting this process their rating with the BBB is an F. I relied on ratings from Forbes and others when I made my decision to go with them. Maybe BH as a hosting site is fine but beware of their Pro Services to build a site. The only thing they seem proficient at is surveying!
Thank you bluehost’s so many employees, particularly the girl named Irish. Managing websites on your own is not easy but bluehost has been beyond helpful. Basically able to reach them 24/7 and Irish was so skilled that she solved my issue that I’ve been reaching out for days in 10 mintues.

Bluehost deserves the 5. I’ve been with them for years. I am now approaching 77, been diagnosed with MCI, mild cognitive impairment. The techs and I were able to come up with methods which provided support for me, a retired UNIX systems administrator. I still have interest in helping older citizens to pursue their hobbies.
Due to a handful of setbacks caused by not being diligent enough in who I hired to help me build my website business, I have paid dearly, both in lost time and financially.
I have never regretted hiring Bluehost to host, protect, and guard our website files. Numerous unscrupulous companies prey on small companies.

No matter which support person I get, my experience has always been a very good one. They respond quickly, courteously, and effectively. I wish all hosting companies offered support as good as Bluehost, but they don’t.

Bluehost has had my money since November 2023 for a domain registration due to renew in mid December 2023. However, THEY NEVER REGISTERED MY DOMAIN. Now a company in Malaysia has my domain and Bluehost say I have to contact the domain name opportunist and try to get them to sell me back my domain.
This is a project I have developed for 15 years and had registered and hosted by Bluehost for almost 10 years.
They used to be great. After using them for everything (hosting, reg, extra services) for so long, spending a lot of money with them and recommending them often, I decided to go elsewhere because of the negligent ‘could-care-less’ customer care and their falling behind in tech in the past few years, while charging the same price or more of other modern hosts.
I didn’t realise just how bad they could get. Now I have to deal with a law suit.

We use WordPress on it. Web hosting is used with cPanel. We want to communicate our services to potential customers. It is a small website with not many visitors. You can use mulitiple installations of WordPress. We do not use the Bluehost email services. Hosting is acceptable for small sites. WordPress is running on a shared server.
The website is slow. The speed is not reliable. Sometimes, sites would go down without warning. You would have to get a VPS to get consistent speed. If you have small website as a hobby, then Bluehost will be sufficient. Otherwise, I recommend looking for something more fast. Storage is good, but speed is lacking.
Honestly I have using last 8 months but not facing any issue and also I tell you their customer support really amazing and helpful I get.
One of the finest host you could be with. I have been using it for few of my sites since 3 years. Along with the decent performance, it also don’t put hole in my pocket.

I had to say pass after a while, found better options and for less money also much more reliable and better assistance. This is my opinion so take it as it is, maybe others hasn’t explore alternatives and go’s for big names.
I was looking for a new hosting company as my existing I felt was continuously throwing advertising and making it more and more convoluted to move around in my control panel.
I have not looked back with finding Bluehost, their Cpanel is so clear and simply I don’t have to jump form page to page just to find what I am looking for. I think the one thing that really did win me over to join up was their Chat & call staff, all had impeccable knowledge, were so helpful and happy, generally seemed happy to work their and take my call and solve my problem or questions.
I can’t stress enough that it’s so nice to have a simple but yet effective and efficient cpanel… thank you for really figuring that out.
Bluehost is the third web hosting company I’ve worked with and the clear advantage is reliability. It really is a case of out of sight, out of mind because I haven’t had to worry about outages other kinds of problems that plagued me with the other companies I tried.
I will say that when I first made the switch over I heard all kinds of stories about how awful the customer service is, and the few times I had to contact them I found that to be true. However, recently I had had some technical issues I needed help with and I was really pleased with the change in service – truly night and day level difference. So with that, I can honestly say that I am happy to recommend Bluehost.
Easy to use hosting even if you’re not very technical. It’s recommended by WordPress and they have special features for WordPress users such as more detailed analytics, themes, and a tutorial series to help you to set up everything.
Also, one of the useful tools is a daily backup. It saved my site another day when I installed a plugin that wasn’t compatible with some existing plugins and the site stopped working. I didn’t have a backup but could restore everything with the help of customer service. A few years ago they had problems with customer support and it took time to get any replies. But looks like they improved their service.
