Croatia transposes EU NPL directive: key updates for loan servicing Croatia has implemented the EU Non-Performing Loans Directive (Directive 2021/2167) with the introduction of the Act on the Manner, Conditions, and Procedure of Servicing and Sale of Receivables. This new framework, effective from late 2023, brought the following key changes: 💡 NPL servicing entities must obtain a license from the Croatian National Bank (CNB). 💡 Strict criteria for expertise, management integrity, and anti-money laundering compliance. 💡 Non-EU NPL buyers are required to appoint an EU-based representative.
