About us
Center of Advanced Studies - Southeast Europe (CAS-SEE) is an organizational unit of the University of Rijeka. It aims at providing constructive contributions to advanced studies of the social sciences and humanities by giving training opportunities and space for independent scholarly and intellectual thinking and debates. Its main areas of research are philosophy, gender studies, history, cultural studies, urban studies, architecture, anthropology, sociology, memory and heritage studies, migration studies and other fields within the branches od social sciences and humanities. The CAS-SEE strives to create space and funds for scholars and intellectuals to study, gather, dialogue, collaborate, research and offer their contribution to the world wide academic arena, with the goal of rebuilding Southeastern European social and scientific ties with leading global intellectual and scholarly centers and to promote joint research work on current topics and discourses in social sciences and humanities.
