Lithuania has climbed to 22nd place in the Global Digital Competitiveness rankings, leading the Baltics. In the 2024 Global Digital Competitiveness Ranking published by Institute for Management Development IMD, Lithuania climbed 6 positions, securing 22nd place out of 67 evaluated countries. Lithuania is scoring particularly well in the "readiness for the future" category, ranking 17th. The 2024 index is led by Singapore, Switzerland, and Denmark, while the United States, which was first last year, has dropped to fourth place. Lithuania's rapid digitalization and significant improvements across all categories demonstrate its readiness for future challenges. Its strong business resilience and adaptability are key strengths that set it apart from other Baltic states, showcasing its unique economic and digital leadership. Lithuania is launching an "AI sandbox," becoming one of the first in the EU to provide a safe space for tech companies to design and test Internet of Things (IoT) solutions before market release. This initiative will boost innovation, helping businesses compete globally.   The government has also approved regulations to implement the EU’s IoT framework, with the Innovation Agency and Communications Regulatory Authority leading the charge. Vilnius is seen as the most business-friendly city in CEE and Baltics!   For the second year in a row, Lithuania's capital takes the top spot, excelling in 5 out of 8 categories. Experts highlighted Vilnius' smart use of media channels to showcase its strengths and focus on key sectors like fintech and film production.   The city's dedication and consistent efforts continue to pay off. Vilnius easily won out over second-placed Warsaw, the capital of the region’s biggest economy, Poland.
