ĐURĐEVAC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL EXTENSION New project According to the current state, the thinking starts from the fact that the new intervention should be as neutral as possible in relation to the current state, while at the same time feeling this new parameter as a uniform theme that continues but also penetrates the existing structure. The decision is to reduce all parts of the extension to the theme of linear horizontal elements. The sports hall extension and the entrance volume have a transparent, possess a fluid base covered by a massive canopy element (entrance volume). The classroom section is composed of a series of horizontal elements as a series of terraces that are also protective overhangs that regulate the direct ingress of sunlight. NM-R VILLA, Dubrovnik New project The conceptual design for the reconstruction and renovation of a historical villa nearby Dubrovnik, Croatia, aims to blend historical elements with modern aesthetics and functionality. The villa, located next to the sea, will be restored to preserve its architectural heritage while incorporating contemporary materials and furnishings to ensure it meets modern standards of comfort and style. The villa’s exterior will maintain its classic Mediterranean style, including the original stonework, ornate windows, and arches that reflect the region’s architectural traditions. Careful cleaning and restoration of the facade will retain the character and charm of the building, ensuring it blends harmoniously with the coastal environment. SVETICE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The logic urban parameters dictate that the building should be separated from the immediate surroundings, oriented optimally in relation to the environment, and guided by the form factor as the basis of sustainable construction, thus a compact structure was chosen as a unique volume in the immediate context. The floor plan was translated towards the western side (regulatory direction), i.e. towards the northern view. The volume is treated as a strict geometric form – a cuboid that is hollowed out on the ground floor at the entrance to the building. The distinction of the lower part of the building from the upper levels is emphasized by the changed typology of the openings. The uniform repetition of windows and niches turns into continuous rows of full and empty surfaces, drawn in, or retained on the basic perimeter of the façade. Equally, diversity is manifested in the structure of solid surfaces. The structure covered with façade bricks is continued with a sheet-structured cladding made of corrugated sheet in a lighter tone. STUDENT CANTEEN WITH PAVILIONS IN ZADAR_BIG SEE 2024 AWARD Our completed project Student Canteen with Pavilions in Zadar was issued the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2024 for Public Architecture :) Three five-floor student residential pavilions were placed above the rectangular ground floor built for the purposes of the canteen. The residential volumes signify duality in approaches. On the one side, they are cantilevered over the base with the intent of marking the main entrances to the sections of the ground floor, and on the other side, the slots through the base and along the perimeter of the pavilion mark the positions of the staircases for the upper platforms. The incisions through the base of the building are elements through which the light penetrates within the deep base of the ground floor. BOTANICAL GARDEN IN SLAVONSKI BROD__new project in development! The proposed intervention begins with the arrangement of the moat as in the historical profile. The trough is filled with water, hydrologically controlled and connected to the Sava River. An imprint of the building elements of the historical matrix is formed around the canal. Green embankments, voluminous green forms that interpret linnets, ravelins, counterguards, redoubts and archaeological points at the location of preserved fragments will be built. Next to the relief formed in this way, a promenade is laid around the moat’s outer profile - a bicycle lane that follows the old and new structures in a historical theme and connects it with the route of the path along the Sava Embankment. The path literally follows the historical matrix, so at the point where the contour of the fortress is interrupted by the city road, it becomes a bridge - an overpass over the street of the city of Vukovar. On the other hand, the building of the botanical garden will mark the entrance to the garden, a building structure located on top of the former asphalt or concrete surface. The building in the aerial view represents the green integral area of the botanical garden. The current road, parking area becomes a roof area surrounded by greenery, integrated into the ground floor solution, and a transparent, crystalline, at first glance irregular form penetrates through it. The entire composition of the botanical garden is built on the basis of the former contours of the fortress. While the garden follows the arms of the historical “star-shaped” design, the complex approach of the building preserves the perimeter of the parking lot in the form of a neutral green area into which the former "Linnet number X" is pressed. Thus, the glass building follows the "Linnet" line, with a row of trees following the same path on the otter façade, and the negative space that was left within the Linnet X as the new square. BAH HOUSE__project in development The entrance patio and house are translated by 5 m in relation to the western edge of the street following the layout of the residential design of the area. The artistic composition divides the volume into three segments. The ground floor middle entrance body is parallel to the northern, longer boundary of the plot. It stretches itself continuously from the western edge of the property. It sits as a long cantilever on the embankment to the east and the forest where it hovers in the same plane among the treetops. Above there is another volume (the bedroom block), a lookout. It is parallel to the street and on both sides the cantilever indicates and covers the entrances. Below the ground floor in line with the lower elevation of the terrain, is the third volume – the living room in uninterrupted nature. The composition is poised of elements building space, emotions and experiences. The interrelation of volumes on the south-west side creates an entrance zone – the front patio, and on the North-east side, the back patio as a private space – a living room united with the forest.
