Dear Entrepreneurs, Leaders, Managers and Friends, As we enter a new year, I have been asked by many within network how to set a clear and actionable strategy for their businesses. 💰 And what a task that is 💪 While strategy planning might feel theoretical at times, it can be broken down into manageable components. Let me clarify some definitions to set the foundation: 🔹 Vision: What you aspire to accomplish. 🔹 Mission: How you will achieve that vision. 🔹 Strategies: The series of approaches to use your mission to achieve the vision. 🔹 Goals: The specific steps needed to implement those strategies. Sounds complex, right? 🤔 But here is the simple truth: most business leaders already know where their company needs to go. If you have established your vision and mission, that is a great starting point. If not, focus on your core business and what you aim to achieve. Here is how we approached it: 1️⃣ Define key focus categories: For us, these included - Structure, Process & Communication - People - Increase of Revenue - Commercialization and - ESG. 2️⃣ Outline strategies under each category: These strategies clarify WHAT we need to achieve success in each area. 3️⃣ Set actionable goals: Here we define the key activities HOW to fulfill each strategy. 4️⃣ Attach measurable KPIs: We set clear metrics to track progress throughout the year and ensure alignment with your priorities. 5️⃣ Identify ownership and deadlines: At the end of the process, we added clarity on WHO is responsible for each strategy and by WHEN it must be accomplished. This ensures accountability and a clear timeline for execution. This process has helped us create a standardized approach for defining strategy, ensuring transparency, accountability, and collaboration across departments.
