❓ Why must academia commit to zero tolerance to gender-based violence? A zero-tolerance policy is more than just a statement; it’s a crucial step on a path toward a safer, more equitable academic world. #GenderBasedViolence takes many forms – from subtle exclusionary practices to overt harassment and abuse. Why must institutions take a firm, #ZeroTolerance approach?  ❌ It sends a clear message that GBV is totally unacceptable within the institution or sector.  🤚 It acts as a strong deterrent against GBV, ensuring that all instances of unacceptable behaviour are investigated and sanctioned.  ☑️ It emphasises institutional healing and rehabilitation, aligning with the institutional change approach. 🔎 Learn more about the Zero-Tolerance approach here: https://lnkd.in/e_n4cqdS #16DaysOfActivism is a worldwide initiative calling for the elimination of gender-based violence. During these 16 days, let’s urge our institutions to take definitive action against GBV in #HigherEducation and #research. Real change begins with commitment. Join us in advocating for zero tolerance and accountability against GBV.
