VEIKI-VNL Electric Large Laboratories Ltd. is an independent testing laboratory and product-certification body. The company is member of the Short-Circuit Testing Liaison (STL), the international organisation of short-circuit and high-voltage laboratories, and is assigned to perform conformity assessment test by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. VEIKI-VNL Ltd. was founded in 1996, from VEIKI Research Institute for Electric Power Company Limited by Shares, Electrical Equipment Division. In the field of testing, VEIKI-VNL Ltd. is the successor of the Electric Research Committee, later Research Institute for Electric Power, established in 1949. Since its foundation, VEIKI-VNL Ltd. performs testing and product certification of equipment used in the electric power industry. It is accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Authority (NAH, but previously known as NAT) as a testing laboratory and a product certification body. Its quality management system is in conformity with the requirements of ISO 9001, and it is certified by the Hungarian Standards Institute. Testing facilities of VEIKI-VNL Ltd. are unique in Hungary, and cover the whole range of power network equipment. From April 2017 VEIKI-VNL is part of DEKRA, one of the top-4 players in the testing, inspection, and certification industry worldwide. An exciting time: together with DEKRA's strong position in low voltage electrical testing, VEIKI-VNL can strengthen and bundle their knowledge, services, and portfolio significantly. DEKRA is an internationally well-recognized and strong brand with over 90 years of experience in testing, inspection, and certification, bringing you a great deal of continuity and additional expertise. The acquisition of VEIKI-VNL is part of DEKRA's strategy in completing the service offering in low, medium and high voltage testing for switchgear, medium and high voltage cables and cable accessories, conductors, substations, and power transformers. DEKRA is committed to grow and invest in this business and continue VEIKI-VNL's success story. VEIKI-VNL will extend into a global competence center for medium and high voltage testing and will be integrated into DEKRA's Product Testing & Certification unit, which came into existence after the acquisition of KEMA Quality by DEKRA in 2009. DEKRA already has a firm position in and a global network of local offices in growth markets, such as the Middle East and China. 25 May 2024 marks the sixth anniversary of the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
