We're still buzzing with the excitement of #INTERGEO2024. Check out how many opportunities it brought to our team, users, and partners. - Live demos: We showcased the project setup with Emlid Flow and Emlid Flow 360 and demonstrated the Reach receivers in action—proving their precision and performance in the field. - Pix4D & Emlid Scanning Kit giveaway: Hundreds of visitors joined the Emlid giveaway, and one lucky attendee won the Scanning kit—excited to see what they create! - Integration showcase: It was a great chance to show how Emlid works smoothly with Wingtra drones and the Field Maps app. Our receivers were displayed at multiple booths like Laser Scanning, Blue Marble Geographics, Mosaic - Geospatial Imaging Leaders, ImpulseRadar, and YellowScan, highlighting Reach versatility. - Merch madness: No one left empty-handed—our booth was buzzing with visitors grabbing Emlid merch. We practically dressed up INTERGEO! - User meetups: It was a pleasure to catch up with our users and experts, including Rami Tamimi, Michal Gula, and Stefan Niculescu. Connecting with our community is always a highlight! Also, our application engineers were on-site to engage with attendees, gather feedback, and better understand what our users need from Emlid. We’re truly grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth, participated in our demos, and engaged with our team. Your enthusiasm and feedback mean a lot to us, and we can’t wait to continue these conversations. Next up: Horizons 2024 by DroneDeploy—we can’t wait! #Emlid #INTERGEO2024 #DroneDeploy2024

My first scan with the Emesent #Hovermap and Backpack RTK: a 30 minute walk to the Space Needle in Seattle. No data slips or drifts . . . without GCPs (and) with intermittent satellite coverage. I am VERY impressed. The Emlid #RS3 makes this possible which is SO simple to use. It appears I wont have to default to terrestrial laser scanning for #AEC work so much going forward. It's great to see SLAM LiDAR coming into this space and to have more options for capture! Next test: Colorization and the Vehicle RTK. #realitycapture #digitaltwins #lidar #slamlidar

Last week, I spent time in the field capturing both terrestrial imagery (using Pix4Dcatch and my Emlid Reach RX) and drone imagery (with the DJI Mavic 3M) of a multi-family building. I’m still refining my understanding of the why, how, when, where, and what of data capture. Factors like altitude, overlap, and camera angles are just a few of the many variables to consider. Ideally, you capture everything you need in a single visit, but it’s all too easy to look back and think, “Why didn’t I...?” For the drone imagery, I captured nadir and oblique images at a 20-degree angle, resulting in nearly 1,200 images. In hindsight, I should have aimed for closer to a 45-degree angle since the building is only two stories tall. A second flight at a different altitude and view angle would likely have improved the results. More side views of the façade would have been ideal, as the nadir shots already provided sufficient roof coverage. The terrestrial imagery consisted of 930 images but was likely captured too quickly. I estimate that an additional 500 images would have been needed to produce the best possible point cloud and mesh. Capturing high-quality terrestrial data requires a slow and deliberate approach, which I’m continuing to practice. Both projects were conducted with RTK, ensuring accuracy. For the Pix4Dcatch project, I used autotags, while the drone imagery incorporated ground control points (GCPs). My next goal is to merge these two datasets into a single project to address their individual shortcomings—stay tuned for updates on that! In the meantime, here are a few images of the point clouds generated from the separate projects. Despite the challenges, I think they turned out pretty well! #photogrammetry #3dmodelling #geospatial #gis #remotesensing #drones

Emlid Flow Survey edition includes some handy tools. The Auto Collection features allows features to be collected automatically based on a specific time or distance interval. In this video we use the Auto Collect by distance interval to create a polygon of an organic shape (playground sand area) to calculate the area / volume of the sand. https://lnkd.in/gKebqGtw #emlid #survey #auto

Our in-house geospatial specialists have been out and about with the Emlid Reach RS3 - which helps provide millimetre-accurate positioning data during drone surveys. View Emlid receivers here: https://lnkd.in/exVvnEYm The RS3 GNSS receiver can be used in base and rover modes and can utilise a caster service for NTRIP corrections as part of drone mapping workflows. And when combined with the free EMLID Studio software, it can work as a local base for post-processing if there is no access to RTK in the field. heliguy™ stocks the Emlid ecosystem and can help you integrate these solutions into your workflows. #drone #GNSS #survey #dji #EMLID #mapping #surveying #LiDAR #photogrammetry #GCPs
