Through PMK 131/2024, the Indonesian government has officially canceled the planned increase of the general VAT rate to 12%. However, a 12% VAT still applies to certain luxury goods, including premium motor vehicles (such as luxury cars and motorcycles with engine capacities over 250cc), luxury residences priced at Rp30 billion or more, and high-value items like aircraft, yachts, and artillery. This policy is not new but a continuation of existing regulations under PMK 141/2021, PMK 42/2022, and PMK 96/2021.
