Continuing to support PT PLN (Persero)’s mission as Indonesia's epicentrum of energy startups and their Beyond KWh initiative, we proudly backed PLN's Connext in its first public debut at #TIAConference 2024! Connext, powered by PLN, is a program that fosters innovation by connecting with startups both in and outside the electricity sector. As a partner, we’re committed to creating real impact by facilitating collaborations and strategic alignments, opening collaborative opportunities for government and private sectors to engage within PLN's ecosystem and strengthening PLN in achieving its goal of generating Beyond KWh’s new revenue streams. The booth attracted significant interest, drawing over a hundred engaged guests and welcoming a substantial number of new collaborative business opportunities. By spotlighting Dayagreen, TechnoGIS Indonesia, Molca Teknologi Nusantara, and BETA UAS, we highlighted each startup’s unique offerings—from drone geo-mapping and EV charging installations to AR/VR educational support and geospatial solutions—as key opportunities for potential partnerships and sectoral growth within PLN’s ecosystem. We also spotlighted three PLN-led projects focused on cleaner energy and digital innovation: Hydrogen Motor by PT PLN Suku Cadang promotes hydrogen as a cleaner fuel alternative; Energy Management System by PT. Energy Management Indonesia provides Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) and Emission Reduction Certificates (SPE) to support sustainability goals; and PLN Mobile by PLN Icon Plus, a digital platform for easy access to PLN’s services. These projects have already attracted interest for potential collaborations, indicating a promising future for cleaner energy initiatives in Indonesia. We look forward to continuing our support for Connext’s mission and witnessing the transformative impacts of these collaborations on Indonesia’s sustainable, tech-driven future! #Impactto #PLN #StartupCommunity #EnergyStartup #DigitalTransformation

As part of Impactto’s mission to support innovation, we created Connext Global Outreach Program—an initiative that offers global startups the opportunity to collaborate and co-create products with PT PLN (Persero) and Indonesian startups. Through this program, we aim to empower PLN with pioneering technologies that can generate new revenue streams beyond kWh within the PLN ecosystem. Recognizing the need for PLN to become the epicenter of energy startups in Indonesia, we launched this global scouting effort, starting in Tokyo, to explore new cross-border opportunities. Leveraging our role as a global partner of Google for Startups, we proudly hosted the program at Google Campus in Shibuya, Tokyo. This environment fostered dynamic interactions and opened doors for PLN to engage with forward-thinking startups, supporting PLN’s beyond-kWh growth while advancing Indonesia’s net-zero ambitions. We are particularly proud of the impactful collaborations fostered during our one-on-one sessions with eight selected Japanese startups: AC Biode, Zeroboard, デジタルグリッド (Digital Grid), PowerX, Inc., Nature Inc., Zenmov Inc., Preferred Networks, Inc., and Algal Bio. Additionally, we had the pleasure of hosting the following startups at the event: Cottonfields Co. Ltd, Earth Solar, Ecofuel, KDDI Corp, RSEC, Updater Inc., Yachiho Engineering, Yourstand, Nanofuel Co. Ltd, Nature Inc., Planet Savers, Blossom Energy, Sensyn Robotics, and Greenphard Energy. We also had the opportunity to visit Tsubame BHB’s Pilot Plant and Iwatani Corporation’s Hydrogen Station, furthering our exploration of innovative technologies. These connections represent a significant step toward innovative solutions in the clean energy sector, reinforcing PLN’s capacity to innovate and grow. Our efforts have enabled PLN to explore advancements across various sectors, including Hydrogen & E-fuels, Rooftop PV, Energy storage solutions, Carbon Removal, CCUS, Carbon/RECs markets & services, and Electric mobility. These innovations are key to strengthening PLN’s clean energy strategy and contributing to Indonesia’s broader sustainable energy goals. Special thanks to the PLN Team: Tri Hardimasyar, Ricky Andrian, Shafira T N., and Ardo Situmorang, and the PLN Icon Plus Team: Rescha Dwi Astuti Putri, Supirman, and Latiefa Ilma, for their invaluable contributions. We also extend our gratitude to Creww, Digital Garage, Inc. and other key institutions for their collaboration and support in making this initiative possible.

Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta continues to embody the spirit of innovation and collaboration through Jakarta Innovation Days Expo (JID Expo) in its third year. Over time, this event has grown into one of the most progressive platforms where key stakeholders can meet, share knowledge, and generate ideas for shaping the future of Jakarta. JID Expo 2024 is designed to maintain and enhance Jakarta's innovation climate. The celebrations began early in July with Jakarta Innovation Awards, serving as a precursor to the main event, which took place from 1-4 October. The event was officially opened by Bapak Sigit Wijatmoko (Asisten Pemerintahan Sekretaris Daerah DKI Jakarta) and featured various activities, including the Innovation Exhibition, Panel Discussions, Matchmaking & Showcasing Sessions, and Jelajah Jakarta. These activities provided participants with valuable opportunities for engagement, collaboration, and idea generation. The journey will continue with a post-event series in November to sustain momentum and foster ongoing innovation. The major highlight was the JID Expo 2024 declaration, where representatives from the pentahelix sectors—government, private sector, academia, media, and society—committed to actionable points and collaborative efforts for driving innovation. A big thank you to Bappeda Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Ibu Atika Nur Rahmania (Kepala Bappeda Provinsi DKI Jakarta) for trusting Impactto to be a part of this impactful initiative. We look forward to continuing this exciting journey of innovation and collaboration in the years ahead! #Impactto #BappedaDKI #JakartaInnovationDays

At our latest #ImpacttoCollective session, we had the pleasure of discussing how to manage foreign investment compliance in Indonesia’s startup ecosystem with Denise Lioe, Associate General Counsel at Northstar Group. As foreign investment increasingly drives startup growth, the session highlighted the critical legal and regulatory steps that founders need to navigate for smooth operations and future success. Indonesian startups need to prepare when seeking foreign investment. Founders must demonstrate strong business fundamentals, such as having a solid business plan, market fit, and product-market alignment. From a legal perspective, investors often look for startups where the founders maintain control over the company, especially in the early-stages, and where the group’s structure is consolidated. In some cases, startups may have more than one legal entity, or a holding company, which can create complexities if the entities are not fully connected. It’s also crucial for startups to have all required operational licenses in place to avoid legal roadblocks. We hope these insights empower founders to confidently tackle the challenges of foreign investment. Thank you to everyone who participated, and we look forward to seeing you at the next ImpacttoCollective session! #Impactto #Sharing #Startups #IndonesiaStartups #ProductMarketFit #BusinessGrowth
