On Saturday, 21st September, we joined forces for a meaningful collaboration on Untung Jawa Island! Together with Tim Koordinasi Nasional Penanganan Sampah Laut (TKN PSL), Badan Litbang KLHK, volunteers, the local community, and support from BNP Paribas Asset Management, OceanKita organized a beach cleanup and mangrove planting event aimed at restoring the environment and raising awareness. We successfully planted 100 mangroves and collected over 155 kg of plastic waste. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of protecting our coastal areas and demonstrates how we can all contribute to a cleaner, greener future. By working side by side, we aim to inspire more people to participate in environmental protection and help preserve these vital ecosystems. Last week, OceanKita was entrusted by Institut Français Indonesia to organise a two-day awareness raising about marine plastic pollution for 52 high school scholars of Labschool Cibubur. A rich and insightful two full days experience not only for the teenagers who will hopefully become new actors of change but also for the organisers and speakers.
