  • Last month, we had the privilege of attending the final event of Saring Daring where the social campaigns were presented and discussed. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the six finalists selected under the theme of digital democracy campaigns, with special congratulations to the 1st winner - Pentafantastica from University of Riau. We are proud of these inspiring initiatives led by young people, who are raising public awareness through impactful social campaigns and collaborating with CSOs. As part of this program, we had the opportunity to work alongside Love Frankie in designing and supporting the program as trainers for digital campaign strategies across universities in Indonesia. Let's look forward for the continuation of these campaigns and the innovative ways they will further develop on their platforms!

  • It's a wrap for Indonesia WEA Grassroots Accelerator 2024 collaboratory! ✨ Last month, the WEAving Collaboration has officially begun and is currently halfway through its program. It has brought together 24 exceptional women environmental leaders from 18 provinces to Bali. Over five days, this gathering of WEA grassroots accelerator leaders was more than just an event, where we engaged in deep connections and forged lasting relationships through in-person convening, following the capacity-building phase. The program included workshops focused on sustainable solutions and eco-entrepreneurship approaches. Through peer group discussions, leaders shared valuable time, knowledge, and insights on tackling environmental challenges in finding innovative solutions, strategic planning, and impact measurement. • “In life, it turns out we don't just need Sandang (craft), Pangan (food), and Papan (home), but also Sadar (wellness). How we can learn from our ancestors about living 'enough' by using natural resources more sustainably for future generations." - Impact Bootcamp participant. Bali, an island famous for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, has always been a dream destination for travelers worldwide. But behind its charm, Bali faces big challenges in preserving its environment and local wisdom, especially with the fast-growing tourism industry. That's where the role of spatial planning and incorporating traditional Balinese architecture comes in. To address this, Pratisara Bumi Foundation teamed up with Socialimpact.ID to showcase the variety of Indigenous Technologies in Bali to solve some of the challenges of the tourism ecosystem. We held an Impact Bootcamp titled "Establishing Sustainable Tourism by Combining Local Values and Culture" in the Aan and Penglipuran villages. We also invited Rumah Reina, a local artisan, to show participants how to make traditional Balinese herbal medicine, Loloh. Through this program, we hope participants will see tourism and traditional technology as foundations for building innovative skills and empowering communities through local community-based tourism.

  • "While the world is searching for solutions to address current environmental and social issues, Indigenous communities have maintained ecosystem balance through the traditional knowledge and technology they preserve." Ni Kadek Putri Adnyaningsih, our the Campaign and Engagement Officer, had the opportunity to speak about Traditional Technology to the youth in Youth Environmental Conference held by Green School Foundation. She addressed environmental issues, focusing on the role of youth in the sustainability of the future in Bali and Indonesia in general. Recognizing the potential of the younger generation, which plays a crucial role in shaping the future of human life, we aim to connect young people's interest in learning traditional knowledge and technology, along with its innovations, with local artisans. This effort seeks to amplify the ongoing preservation efforts of traditional knowledge and technology. #GreenSchool #PratisaraBumiFoundation #Sustainability

  • Last month, we flew to Jakarta to attend the Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM) Annual Meeting! The meeting was held as a platform to ensure that every step and decision taken by the Coalition aligns with the vision, mission, and goals set together and proceeds democratically. The meeting discussed the establishment of KEM Organs/Members and Advisory Board, bylaws, annual reports, 2045 targets, and a work plan which, by the end of the day, was agreed upon by all members. Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM) is committed to expanding its impact and realizing commitments according to the three main principles of a people-oriented economy: 1. Fairness and equity from the local community for the local community; 2. Sustainability and local wisdom; 3. Environmental conservation. By 2026, KEM aims to raise at least USD 200 million for 100 committed regions with 100 targeted commodity supply chains. We are excited to see how these significant plans will be turned into reality! #KoalisiEkonomiMembumi #EkonomiMembumiCoalition #SustainableInvestment #GreenCoalition
