This pipe is pouring slaughterhouse waste straight into our oceans! Captured just south of Timaru, New Zealand, this shocking footage reveals the grim reality of our waterways. The pipe releases a toxic mix of blood, fecal bacteria, phosphorus, and nitrogen directly into the sea, posing a serious threat to marine life and ecosystems. Animal agriculture doesn't just inflict suffering on animals within the industry; it's wreaking havoc on the environment and jeopardizing the health of everyone who depends on it. What are New Zealand's regulations regarding wastewater discharge into the ocean? #Wastewater #Water #NewZealand

The ongoing slaughter of thousands of marine mammals, including dolphins and porpoises, at the hands of the industrial fishing fleet starkly contradicts the values we hold as a nation. Ireland is better than this; we pride ourselves on our rich cultural heritage and deep connection to the sea, yet our waters are marred by practices that threaten both our marine life and the sustainability of our fisheries. Every pelagic fishery in Ireland teeters on the brink of collapse, underscoring an urgent moral imperative to ban industrial fishing in these vital waters. We must stand together and advocate for the protection of our marine ecosystems, reflecting the true spirit of Ireland as a compassionate and environmentally responsible nation. It is time to embrace a future where our actions align with our values, ensuring that we safeguard our oceans for generations to come. I grew up in Helvick Head, where my family has fished these waters for generations. Helvick, a small Viking settlement on the southeast coast of Ireland, was once surrounded by the richest fishing grounds in Europe. Unfortunately, industrial fishing has devastated our local waters. A massive foreign fleet, along with the Irish mid-water trawlers, has stripped our seas of marine life. The previous Irish government turned a blind eye to this destruction. Just last month, several young men were forced to leave their homes as economic migrants, driven away by the collapse of our fishing industry. Today, the Irish and foreign mid-water fleets are operating off the west coast of Ireland, targeting scad. Fishermen believe that the biomass of scad has plummeted by over 90%. Yet, astonishingly, the European Union has increased the quota for scad in Irish waters this year. Can you imagine increasing the harvest of a species on the brink of extinction in our waters? It's time to tear up the Common Fisheries Policy and ban all foreign vessels from Irish waters until we can rebuild our fish stocks. Every single fish species in our waters has faced a catastrophic decline, with many now teetering on the edge of extinction. The impact of industrial fishing has severely depleted marine life along the Irish coast, particularly in areas like Helvick, where local biodiversity has suffered drastically. The relentless greed of the Irish mid-water trawler fleet has led to overfishing, disregarding ecological balance and sustainability. This aggressive practice has not only caused the collapse of fish populations but has also marginalized indigenous Irish inshore fishing communities, worsening their plight. The dominance of industrial trawlers, especially those operating under the Irish south and west Fishermans organization has sidelined traditional fishing practices and left places like Helvick with little to no marine life. We must unite in calling for a complete ban on industrial fishing in Irish waters. The time for change is now. https://lnkd.in/gcuaVbVp The conversation around plastic and its potential impact on gender dysphoria is complex and multifaceted. Plastics, particularly those that contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), have raised concerns regarding their effects on human health, including hormonal balance. Some studies suggest that exposure to certain EDCs, such as bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, may influence the development of gender identity and expression. EDCs can mimic or interfere with the body's hormones, which could potentially affect physical and psychological development during critical periods, such as in utero or during puberty. This disruption might lead to variations in gender identity and sexual orientation. For example, some research indicates that prenatal exposure to these chemicals may correlate with non-typical gender expression or identity later in life. Furthermore, the pervasive presence of plastics in our environment—from food packaging to personal care products—means that many individuals are regularly exposed to these substances. This raises questions about the long-term effects on gender identity and the potential for contributing to feelings of gender dysphoria in some individuals. While the science is still developing, the potential link between plastic exposure and gender dysphoria underscores the importance of addressing environmental health and advocating for safer alternatives to harmful chemicals in plastics. Ensuring a healthier environment could be a step toward fostering better mental health outcomes for those experiencing gender dysphoria or questioning their gender identity. **Headline:** "Saudi Tycoon Sulaiman Al Rajhi Donates Fortune to Charity, Loses Billionaire Status" Sulaiman bin Abdul Aziz Al Rajhi, co-founder of Al Rajhi Bank and one of Saudi Arabia's leading businessmen, has made headlines by donating the majority of his wealth to charity, resulting in the loss of his billionaire status. This remarkable act of generosity highlights his commitment to philanthropy and the profound impact of giving back to society. I firmly believe that Arab people are among the most extraordinary individuals on the planet. Their unwavering dedication to making the world a better place is truly inspiring. Many Arabs strive to leave a positive mark on their communities and the world at large, dedicating their lives to this noble cause. This passion for progress and benevolence is woven into the very fabric of their culture, showcasing an impressive commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian efforts. In recent years, I have had the privilege of forming friendships with many Arabs, and I can’t speak highly enough of the richness of Arab culture. From their warm hospitality to their vibrant traditions, every interaction has left a lasting impression on me. The values of family, community, and resilience shine through in everything they do, creating a tapestry of connection that transcends borders. I am continually amazed by their generosity and spirit, which makes me proud to celebrate and honor the Arab people.

https://lnkd.in/gkxFQ7Je Irish inshore coastal fishing communities are fighting for survival. Domestic and foreign Industrial fishing vessels are raping Irelands waters.
🚨 Urgent Action Needed! 🚨 Today, the European Commission has increased fish quotas for multiple species that are already down 60% in Irish waters. They've even allowed Iceland and Norway to join the industrial harvest here. Ocean Integrity Group is calling for a pro bono law firm to help us stop this industrial slaughter! We must prevent the European Commission from allocating quotas within Ireland’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) while knowing our fisheries are in crisis. Scad biomass down over 60% the EU increased the quota for 2025. Mackerel biomass down over 50% but the quota for 2025 is set at 576,958 tonnes, indigenous hook and line fishermen in Irish waters will get under 400 tonnes. The list of all white fish species are all in critical or near critical status. We cannot allow industrial and foreign fishing to operate in our waters until we restore biodiversity. A healthy marine ecosystem is vital for our survival and the future of our communities. Let’s come together to protect our oceans! 🌊💪 #SaveOurSeas #OceanIntegrity #ProBonoLegalHelp

THE HUMPBACK'S BUMPS The humpback whale has bumps on the front edge of its flippers. Common sense says that a smooth edge is a better design, which is why divers wear skin-tight suits and why submarines have a smooth tube-like shape. This was the conventional thinking unil engineers tested a whales flipper in a wind tunnel ( a smooth and then a bumpy flipper). The smooth flipper acted as an airplane wing, providing lift and propulsion to the whale in water. Surprisingly, the flipper with bumps (tubercules) were found to have 8% better lift and 32% less drag. It also resisted stalling (drastically losing lift) at a 40% steeper angle. So why did the bumps on the flipper work better? The bumps broke up the flow of fluid and forced it into the fluted valleys in between. The generated eddies (vortices) that kept the flow to the top surface of the flipper, thus increasing the lift and resisting stalls. Researchers are now proposing this design on helicopters, propellers, and ship rudders. It would be foolishness to copy clear designs in nature and NOT attribute them to a Designer. When we see these bumps (tubercules), we know there is a bump maker, and that is God.

As my son’s anniversary approaches, the pain feels as heavy as ever. Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season filled with joy and warmth. A special thank you to Ria for taking care of my social media accounts during this time. Sending big hugs to each of you and lots of love! **In Memory of My Son Wayne** As another year quietly drifts away, Oh, how I wish I could wake to see Wayne today. If only I could shake off this endless night, And know it was just a fleeting fright. I remember when you were small, so dear, How you held my hand, your laughter so clear. As you grew older, you became my best friend, In every moment, love without end. Sixteen years of memories, cherished and bright, Locked in my heart, a comforting light. A bond that no distance nor time can sever, In my thoughts, you remain, now and forever. Oh, how my heart aches with longing and woe, I wish I could hold you, never let go. Where once there was joy, now shadows play, A bittersweet echo of happier days. I long to hear your voice, see your radiant smile, Just to have you back for a little while. Until that day when we meet once more, I'll search for you among the stars I adore. Love, Dad
