𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗤𝗜𝗦-𝗣𝗛𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 SEAMEO QITEP in Science-PT PERTAMINA HULU ROKAN STEM Competition 2024 grand finale, held from 23 to 24 December 2024 at The Zuri Hotel Pekanbaru, showcased remarkable talent from students and educators across Riau Province. Participants demonstrated their creativity and problem-solving skills through STEM-based projects, culminating in the announcement of winners on 24 December 2024. In the STEM Competition for Schools, SMA Negeri 5 Tualang emerged as the champion for senior high school, SMP Negeri 4 Tambang for junior high school, and UPT SDN 024 Petapahan Jaya for elementary school. Meanwhile, in the STEM Challenge, students excelled in hands-on projects: SMA Negeri 1 Rimba Melintang won the Strongest Building Challenge, UPT SMPN 1 Tapung Hulu led the Strongest Bridge Challenge, and UPT SDN 024 Petapahan Jaya championed the Eco-Powered Car Challenge. This event highlights the power of STEM education in solving real-world challenges and shaping future innovators. It reflects Mr Prabowo Subianto’s vision (President of The Republic of Indonesia) of strengthening STEM to equip Indonesians for global demands. The first evening kicked off with a Programme Evaluation Workshop, where employees gathered to review past achievements, uncover opportunities for growth, and align future strategies. On the second night, the focus shifted to the eagerly awaited SEAQIS Employee Achievement Awards (SEA EAA). The evening was filled with excitement as interns showcased their talents with creative performances, leading up to the much-anticipated awards announcement. Among the honoured were Ms Tika Karlina (Finance and Infrastructure Division) who was named Best Employee, and Ms Winona Putri Ibrahim (Graphic Designer Intern) who received the Best Intern award. This event not only celebrated individual excellence but also highlighted the collective strength that drives the organisation’s success. Meanwhile, teachers collected their innovative STEM teaching methods during the competition period from 15 November to 6 December 2024. The excitement continues to grow as the grand finale approaches from 23 to 24 December 2024. SEAQIS and PHR have lauded participants’ remarkable growth and dedication. From groundbreaking renewable energy solutions to ingenious problem-solving strategies, the competition underscores the impact of STEM on shaping future innovators. The final event promises to celebrate innovation, perseverance, and talent, spotlighting the best ideas from Indonesia’s brightest minds. This initiative aligns with Mr Prabowo Subianto's vision (the President of the Republic of Indonesia) of advancing STEM education. 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗤𝗜𝗦 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 SEAQIS has successfully conducted the Science Teacher’s Capacity Enhancement on STEM Learning in the Philippines from 27 to 29 November 2024. The event took place at San Juan De Mata Elementary School. It was attended by 30 elementary and secondary school science teachers aiming to enhance their competence in implementing the STEM approach through project-based learning. The three-day event featured comprehensive courses covering programme orientation, emerging trends and issues in global science education, the principles and characteristics of STEM learning, strategies for identifying topics and designing STEM projects, along with models and assessments for effective STEM education. The SEAQIS Academic Team and Local Training Committee of San Juan De Mata Elementary School led the discussion and gave impactful insights. The event concluded with a STEM presentation and closing ceremony. This programme marks a significant step in empowering science educators with the tools and knowledge to effectively implement STEM learning, foster innovation, and inspire a new generation of critical thinkers in the Philippines. In collaboration with SEAQIS, this training served as a part of the 8th Angkasa School Education Festival (FESA). The initiative aimed to enhance the participants’ capacities by providing them with essential skills in leadership, management, and education planning. Led by facilitators from SEAQIS, the training focused on practical applications of leadership and management concepts. Participants explored techniques such as SWOT analysis, strategies for developing learning communities, and methods to create medium-term and short-term work plans for their schools. The training also served as a platform to align the principals’ visions with actionable steps to improve educational quality. This event highlighted SEAQIS’ dedication to advancing education by empowering school leaders to tackle modern challenges. As a result, the principals emerged better prepared to lead with integrity and strategy, ensuring continuous improvement across the Angkasa Schools network. #training #principals #education #teachers

𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗤𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗤𝗜𝗦-𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 On 21 November 2024, SEAQIS successfully hosted the SEAQIS-SILN STEM Challenge 2024 via Zoom. This event brought together students from Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri (SILN) in Saudi Arabia to showcase their creativity and critical thinking through engaging challenges focused on engineering and design. The competition featured three exciting challenges: Straw Bridge Challenge for elementary students, Strongest Boat Challenge for middle school students, and Strongest Building Challenge for high school students. Throughout the day, students applied scientific principles and the engineering design process to solve real-world problems, demonstrating their innovative thinking and teamwork skills. The event provided a platform for students to think critically, collaborate, and showcase their ability to solve challenges using STEM concepts. The event concluded with announcing the winners from Sekolah Indonesia Riyadh, Sekolah Indonesia Jeddah, and Sekolah Indonesia Mekah.
