The ASEAN-India Startup Festival (AISF) 2024, held from November 28 to 30 in New Delhi, India, served as a vibrant showcase for the dynamic startup ecosystems of ASEAN Member States and India. Hosted by the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIC) at IIT Kanpur, in partnership with the Department of Science & Technology (DST), the three-day event brought together nearly 100 startups, fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development within the region. Highlights of this year's event included panel discussions, startup success stories, leaders’ dialogues, pitch competition, and industry visits, offering a comprehensive experience for attendees. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Economic Community, underscored the festival's significance as a testament to the shared vision of ASEAN and India for a future rooted in inclusivity and sustainability. He emphasised that AISF 2024 exemplifies the growing capacity of both regions to collaboratively address regional challenges through innovation, setting the stage for a more resilient and interconnected future.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Brunei Darussalam then joined on 8 January 1984, Viet Nam on 28 July 1995, Lao PDR and Myanmar on 23 July 1997, and Cambodia on 30 April 1999, making up what is today the ten Member States of ASEAN.
