Shinjuku, a foodie heaven in Tokyo 🍱🍣🍜

With Tokyo being such an enormous city it can often be overwhelming deciding what areas to visit, especially if you’re doing a smaller trip. If you’re a big food lover you have to find time for Shinjuku to get an incredible taste of Japanese food. It’s home to some amazing food streets and has plenty of shopping too. For me the highlight was NishiShinjuku food market, lots of tiny alleyways lined with restaurants. We tried some ramen, Yakitori and some matcha ice cream to finish - all of it was incredible. The restaurants can be very small, some with only 2/3 tables but it’s worth it to wait for one you like. It can get really busy and almost impossible to get a table but there are so many food stalls to grab something and walk around. Most places are cash only, so make sure to grab some cash on your way!
