A central route to skills development in Ireland. #GenerationApprenticeship
About us
Apprenticeships are an exciting and proven way for employers to develop talent for their company and industry. Apprenticeships are designed by industry-led groups, supporting growth and competitiveness. Apprentices earn while they learn and build valuable work-ready skills in a chosen occupation. Apprenticeships open-up exciting and rewarding careers, with learning grounded in the practical experience of undertaking a real job. Apprenticeships have long been an accelerator for individual and corporate development in Ireland. Generation Apprenticeship is a major expansion project to more than double the number of learners, of all ages and backgrounds, taking the apprenticeship route. This promises to be a huge source of inspiration in opening apprenticeship into a full range of twentyfirst century industries and skill sets. Helping more people discover and develop their talents through training is at the heart of the national apprenticeship system.

The National Skills Bulletin is such a valuable source of information for Ireland’s society and economy, including the important expansion and transformation of Apprenticeship Ireland opportunities and investment. Celebrating 20 years of publication. Warmest congratulations to colleagues 👏🏻🎉
We were delighted to celebrate 20 years of the SOLAS (An tSeirbhís Oideachais Leanúnaigh agus Scileanna) National Skills Bulletin at the Royal Dublin Society this morning. Produced by the SOLAS Skills & Labour Market Research Unit, the bulletin has become a valuable resource, providing important insights on the Irish labour market at occupational level and identifying where shortages and recruitment challenges exist. "The bulletin has helped to inform enterprise about their talent strategies and individuals on their career choices. It tells us where we need to go as an economy and where to go as a FET system." - Andrew Brownlee Great to have Jasmina Behan with us to share her insights on the incredible journey from establishing the National Skills Bulletin in 2005 to where it has come to today, and the importance of evidence informed policy decisions. We also launched the 2024 National Skills Bulletin with presentations from our colleagues - Joan McNaboe on the evolution of the National Skills Bulletin, and Nora Condon on some the key findings from this year’s report. Kevin Marshall spoke about the future skills landscape in Ireland and how we must align provision with skills gaps. A panel discussion rounded off a brilliant morning, focusing on how we can innovate, respond effectively, and are inclusive when looking at the skills agenda and future skills needs of Ireland. Congratulations to all of the team for their fantastic work, and to all of our colleagues who have contributed to previous editions of the bulletin.
