Yesterday, nine of our chefs competed in our Aramark Chef of the Year 2025 - showcasing their exceptional skills and culinary expertise. Jake Gamboa, our Sous Chef from AIB Molesworth Street, stood out for his innovation and creativity in mastering a Filipino-inspired dish featuring a modern take on Kare-Kare, a rich peanut-based stew, and Ginataan, a coconut-infused seafood dish, that both wowed the judges and secured him the top spot. Jake dishes were not only a testament to his personal talent but also a reflection of the high standards we uphold across our sites. Jake and the runner-up Philip Morrisey, Executive Chef at IDL in Cork, will travel to Shanghai in China in May 2025 to represent Aramark Ireland at the International Chefs Cup 2025. Congratulations Jake and Philip on this incredible achievement!

  • Our most recent Nourish & Flourish event took place at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. ‘Nourish & Flourish’ is an engaging cooking demonstration we offer our clients that equips attendees with the knowledge and skills to adopt more sustainable eating habits. With sustainability becoming an increasingly important aspect of our society, Nourish & Flourish ensures that individuals can make informed, environmentally responsible choices when it comes to their diets.   Attendees joined our Culinary Development Chef Darren Curran, and our Senior Dietitian Dr. Caroline Donovan for an insightful and interactive session. Each dish presented was carefully selected based on its environmental impact, following the Footprint Carbon rating system. All dishes featured in the demonstration were A & B-rated meals (so dishes with a very low impact on our planet), ensuring they met high standards for sustainability without compromising on taste or nutritional value.   It was fantastic to see so many attendees engaging in meaningful discussions about sustainable eating. At Aramark, we’re committed to fostering a culture of sustainability, and events like Nourish & Flourish help empower individuals to make a real difference, one meal at a time.
