Yesterday Dawn Bailey, Head of Financial Wellbeing at Bank of Ireland, spoke at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Global Roundtable as part of our ongoing commitment to the UN Principles for Responsible Banking. We're proud to serve as co-lead in the working group, alongside UN Women and United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) on new Principles for #ResponsibleBanking (PRB) guidance: Advancing Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment: Target Setting Guidance for Banks. Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore also half of its potential. Investing in women's empowerment provides the critical leverage needed to advance gender equality, poverty eradication and inclusive economic growth. Financial institutions are essential in this work. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dH-Nrthp

We are delighted that our colleague Aoife Ogden, Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist, has been recognised by INvolve - The Inclusion People, global leaders in diversity and inclusion, and will be featured in their Enable Role Model List 2024 sponsored by Dow! Aoife was diagnosed with ADHD last year at age 23. She was a panellist during the group Neuroinclusion Strategy launch event in March and actively participates in our Neurodivergent Focus Group, raising awareness and helping minimise the stigma surrounding neurodiversity. She is also a member of the gender balance committee and co-manages the Women in Cyber network, promoting gender diversity in the cybersecurity field. Well done Aoife on this massive achievement! We are delighted to take part in the Inclusive Communications Programme rolled out by the Irish Banking Culture Board and inclusio over the coming weeks and months. Various teams across the group will be offering this as an additional support to colleagues in customer facing roles, particularly those working in our contact centres and over the phones. This programme will consist of short interactive online modules which cover content on a variety of I&D Characteristics such as Gender, Ethnicity, LGBTQ+ and Neuroinclusion. This will be a valuable tool to help build confidence in communications both internally with colleagues and externally with our customers.
The IBCB is delighted to partner with inclusio Learning Labs on the Inclusive Communication initiative launched today, to enhance diverse & inclusive culture through improving inclusive communications for bank staff and customers across AIB, Bank of Ireland and PTSB. The core objectives of the initiative are to create an inclusive environment through continued behaviour change by encouraging respectful and considerate curiosity around human differences and providing the tools to build confidence in communications both internally with colleagues and externally with customers. The IBCB partnered with inclusio, an Irish technology company in developing these tools. inclusio’s mission is to help organisations measure, action and report on their people and culture, ensuring their initiatives are impactful, scalable and measurable. The inclusio Learning is peer reviewed, academically sourced, educational, quality learning with inspirational engaging stories, and is accessible from any device and location. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to not just exist but to truly thrive in all aspects of life. It is in this spirit that we proudly support HIV Ireland’s Red Ball in collaboration with our WithPride LGBTQ+ network. The Glow Red Ball has helped raise vital funds for initiatives including HIV prevention, education and training; HIV rapid testing; counselling and peer-led supports for those impacted by HIV; and measures to combat HIV-related stigma and discrimination. Our partnership with HIV Ireland has been fundamental in raising awareness and supporting those affected by HIV. Their dedication to providing care, education, and advocacy is truly inspiring. We came together on the Sunday 1st of December, World AIDS Day. A day for reflection and remembrance, a day to honour the lives lost, and a day to renew our commitment to a world free of HIV. We’re also proud to say we lit up College Green for another year as part of HIV Ireland Glow Red campaign. Our Begin Together fund has provided longstanding support to charities and not-for profit organisations working with the LGBTQI+ community around Ireland.
