  • Beaumont Cardiology Team completes first Pulse Field Ablation PVI treatment in a public hospital. On Monday 19th August, Beaumont successfully completed the first Pulsed Field Ablation procedure (PFA) in a public centre in Ireland, which is a huge achievement and an incredible step forward for the treatment of atrial fibrillation patients in Ireland. The technology has been available in private centres in Ireland for over two years, and it is now available in Beaumont to patients living with atrial fibrillation. One of the main benefits of this treatment is that it reduces the duration of the PVI procedure time dramatically from 4 hours to less than 2 thus allowing more patients to be treated. This success is a credit to the team, lead by Prof Ricky Sheahan and Dr Zain Sharif, Consultant Cardiologists, Thelma Morgan and Louise Collins, Chief Cardiac Physiologists and the brilliant multidisciplinary Cath Lab team. It is a wonderful accomplishment for all involved. Pictured below are our Cardiology and Cath Lab Colleagues. #BostonScientific #Farapulse
