Voters across the country are taking to the polls today to elect 174 TDs across 43 constituencies, which will result in the formation of a new Government. Ireland's general election is a cornerstone of our democracy, an opportunity to shape the direction of our communities and our country. By casting a vote, we can all play a vital role in deciding the future we will share. We would encourage employers to support their employees in finding time to vote today. For Black Friday and Christmas 2024, we’re encouraging everyone to choose consciously in store & online across the coming weeks. As with recent years, let’s turn Black Friday GREEN and #ChampionGreen. I think we can all agree it has been another challenging year across the retail, food & hospitality, and services sector. It has been particularly disheartening to see even more small businesses and friends in our towns and cities close their doors due to the tough trading climate. This week marks the biggest online shopping week of the year, with peak weeks in bricks & mortar to follow. This week will also be payday week for many, and Consumer Mindset will be in the space of ticking items off their Christmas shopping list. We are all so passionate about our favourite Irish brands and local businesses who are the beating heart of our Communities across the country. Let’s get behind them as much as possible in the coming weeks, whether it be through purchasing gifts, sharing recommendations or simply posting positive reviews on social media. Our choices now will have a lasting impact into the New Year and beyond for Irish businesses and local business owners. Let’s turn Black Friday Green #ShopLocal #SupportLocal Small Firms Association Retail Excellence Ireland Chambers Ireland Kilkenny Design HANNAH SAUNDERS PR LIMITED

In the countdown to the General Election, Chambers Ireland have produced a Manifesto promoting our network's key priorities for the incoming Government. The Manifesto is built on two key pillars. The second pillar focuses on securing future success and the areas that will need significant attention if we are to spark growth and propel Ireland’s economic prospects. Key priorities include: 🏘️ Developing and, crucially, delivering key national infrastructure including housing, grid, water, transport, ports and aviation infrastructure. 💶 Reducing the operational costs for businesses through taxation and regulatory reform. ♻️ Ensuring a sustainable and resilient future by taking climate action, focusing on energy security, investing in skills development, defending our critical national infrastructure and promoting business innovation. ⚖️ Focusing on balanced regional development to create thriving local economies. 📈 Enhancing trade links and global market access through greater collaboration with strategic international partners. In the countdown to the General Election, Chambers Ireland have produced a Manifesto promoting our network's key priorities for the incoming Government. The Manifesto is built on two key pillars. The first recognises that Ireland has a number of strategic strengths and competitive advantages which, if not protected and promoted, will have damaging consequences for our future prosperity and economic development. Key priorities include: 📈 Economic Success: Ensuring Ireland remains a top destination for FDI, while creating opportunities for homegrown businesses to thrive. 👨🏫 Social Success: Promoting Ireland’s key strengths to international audiences, reinforcing our position as a world-class hub for innovation, tourism and talent. Additionally, investing in our higher education system to ensure Ireland continues to offer a highly educated, skilled and adaptable workforce to meet the needs of modern industries. 🌍 Sustainable Success: Investing in renewable energy to not only meet climate goals but to become a leader in this sector and realise the potential economic opportunities.
