Huge thanks to comedians Jon Long and Colm O'Regan for some light relief at the end of the week in our latest Climate Club webinar: ‘If you didn’t laugh, you’d cry: Can comedy save our planet?’ As this clip reveals, the most important element when it comes to having a laugh about something as serious as climate change is getting the target right. Jon explained the basic comedy rule of ‘punching up’ rather than down, while Colm left us with a powerful visual of a comedy bicycle chase between police and protestors on the tarmac of Schiphol airport. My key takeaways from the #ESGAutumnSummit include - the future need for Chief Capital Officers - nature, people, finance etc - the concept of Taking Transformation *Literally* - Transversal skills are like the inner development goals - Fianance Teams aren’t yet ready to challenge Sustainability Teams - ie need more literacy and upskilling. Thanks to Sarah Blake for moderating our panel so well despite the time pressures. Her questions were thoughtful and got the best from us as contributors.
