As a show of commitment to corporate social responsibility, Collen’s Executive Management Team partnered with FoodCloud to help salvage surplus produce from local farms. They donned their wellies to participate in Gleaning - the ancient act of manually collecting remaining crops from farmers' fields after the fields have been commercially harvested, or when it is not economically profitable to harvest. They rescued an impressive 330kg of fresh vegetables that will now reach those who need it most in our community. A huge thank you to FoodCloud for organising this impactful initiative and for their continuous work in fighting food waste while supporting our community and helping to create a more sustainable future.

With the 2024 theme, “Focus on Critical Risks,” Collen’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System reinforces adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that our workforce is well-informed of critical risks at every stage of a project. This campaign has provided a valuable opportunity to reaffirm that, at Collen, safety always comes first. On Tuesday, the sites conducted blind spot and MEWP rescue demonstrations, which provided valuable safety insights. Our teams engaged in Arc Flash PPE Safety Awareness Training and a medical emergency response demonstration. Thursday’s sessions included a Take 5 with Shane Lyons from GNS Fitness, as well as training on safe lifting, lithium-ion battery safety, and confined space rescue demonstrations.
