The Central Statistics Office is the agency that compiles official statistics in Ireland. The CSO aims to keep society informed by producing objective and accurate statistics that are used by businesses, governments and the EU to make more informed decisions about Ireland’s people, society and economy.   • 𝗖𝗦𝗢 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲: Distribution of Earnings by Nationality 2023 PUBLISHED 06 DECEMBER 2024 ❱ This release explores the composition of Ireland’s labour market and earnings by nationality. The analysis includes nationalities that made up the top 10 employments in Ireland in 2023. ❱ The release also analyses the age of the different nationalities participating in the labour market and the effect on earnings associated with age and nationality. ❱ It also looks at economic activity in each sector by nationality along with a breakdown of the economic activity by each nationality in 2023. ❱ This release presents statistics on earnings based on administrative data sources. Merchandise imports were €38.7 billion in Q3 2024 up €4.1 billion compared with the same period in 2023. ◽ Service exports at €115 billion, grew by €13.6 billion compared with Q3 2023. Service imports at €105.1 billion were up €14.5bn over the same period in 2023. ◽ The trade balance at €53.7 billion, which is all goods and services exports less all goods and services imports, increased by €6.1 billion in Q3 2024 over the same period in 2023. ◽ The overall income balance for Q3 2024 was -€30.7 billion, a decrease of €1.7 billion compared with the same period in 2023. ◽ Direct investment into Ireland increased by €11.3 billion in Q3 2024 while direct investment abroad rose by €7.6 billion in the quarter. ◽ The stock of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) assets held in Ireland by foreign investors fell by €89.8 billion in Q3 2024 to €1,060.6 billion.   • 𝗖𝗦𝗢 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲: Monthly Unemployment November 2024 PUBLISHED 04 DECEMBER 2024 ❱ This release provides a detailed series of monthly unemployment estimates. The release contains both monthly unemployment rates and monthly unemployment volumes. ❱ The methodology for the Monthly Unemployment Estimates involves forecasting the number of persons who are unemployed using the trend in the recipient Live Register series. ❱ The Department of Social Protection is providing Working Age Income supports to people arriving in Ireland from Ukraine under the Temporary Protection Directive. The Live Register series includes recipients of these supports who have met the relevant criteria.
