Message from Dr. Joe Harrington Dear Colleagues, I am delighted to inform you that the recent visit from an Accrediting The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Panel has recommended that CIOB Accreditation be granted for the Level 7 and Level 8 programs in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying for the period from 2024 to November 2029. Munster Technological University now also holds CIOB Accredited Centre Status during the period 2024 to 2029! It was inspiring to see so many enthusiastic students eager to learn about The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the many benefits it offers for those starting a career in construction. Annette shared insights into CIOB membership and resources like Tomorrow’s Leaders, career guidance, and professional development tools that help students take their first steps toward chartership. I enjoyed talking with students about my journey as a CIOB Tomorrow’s Leader Champion to where I am today, and hearing their ambitions for the future. 👏 Great Initiative! "Building Connections: Year 4 Students Mentor Year 1" Earlier this semester, our Y4 students from the BSc in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying programmes stepped up to guide and inspire the next generation! In a casual, student-led mentoring session, the experienced 4th Years shared their insights, tips, & advice with the 1st Year students. The session created a friendly, open forum where the 1st Years had the chance to ask questions about the courses, the workload, and life as a student in the programme. From study hacks and time management to real-life advice about internships and career pathways, the 4th Years provided invaluable advice based on their own experiences. The atmosphere was relaxed and engaging, with honest discussions. A huge thank you to our 4th Year Mentors for taking the time to give back and support their peers. You’ve shown the true spirit of leadership and collaboration!
