The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI), together with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ireland are delighted to announce the call for applications for the United Nations Youth Delegate Programme for Ireland 2025-2026, which will support two young people aged between 18-25 years old to join Ireland’s delegation to the United Nations. The aims of United Nations Youth Delegate Programme Ireland are: - To provide a platform for young people living in Ireland to be represented at the United Nations. - To directly involve young people living in Ireland in international diplomacy, foreign policy, and decision-making. - To hear and include the voices of young people living in Ireland on development, human rights, and global citizenship issues at local, national, and international levels. - To promote development and youth policies among young people in Ireland. - To familiarise young people in Ireland with global development issues, the Sustainable Development Goals, and opportunities for action. - To support global citizenship activities and development initiatives in Ireland. - This Programme will support young people to be agents of change, and to foster active global citizenship through engagement with the UN, contributing to building a world of justice, equity, peace, and dignity for all. ⬇️ Find out more and apply at the link in the comments below.

Minister Darragh O'Brien has announced the award of almost €6 million of Community Support Funding to 10 community-led projects in the Midlands under the EU Just Transition Fund Programme. The projects were awarded through a third competitive call for proposals in the Local and Regional Economic Strategies Support Scheme (LRESSS). LRESSS is co-funded by the government and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund programme. Geological Survey Ireland has awarded ‘Geoheritage’ grants to seven community-based projects around the country. The aim of the fund is to tell the story of Irish geology, and how it influences and relates to our culture and heritage.
