Congratulations to Co-op member organisation, Inner City Enterprise, on securing a substantial grant under the Community Recognition Fund, for its enterprise centre, The Hub on the Hill, in Dublin 7. The securing of this invaluable funding is testament to the amazing work, foresight and dedication of the ICE team and especially its legendary CEO, Evanne Kilmurray..!!!!!! Evanne also happens to be Vice-Chairperson of the Co-op and for that we are very lucky!! We thank all the officials and public representatives who have supported this project from conception to fruition. The Hub on the Hill is a fantastic example of State and Community Sector partnership and collaboration. We fully endorse the statement issued by Marie Sherlock, Labour Party TD, regarding the government's heartless and callous decision to uproot 240 Ukrainian women, children and men in the middle of the school year. Moving them from Dublin 1 where they are well settled into work and school life to an equestrian centre in Co. Kildare upends months and years of positive integration work. Inflicting such hardship and upset on innocent people fleeing brutal conflict flies in the face of all humanity and compassion. Co-op CEO, Noel Wardick, interviewed on RTE 1 pm TV News regarding the disgraceful decision by the Government to upend the lives of 240 Ukrainian refugees who have been living, working and going to school and college in Dublin for the last three years. Moving 240 people who are well integrated to an equestrian centre in Kildare.......the sheer lack of humanity is shocking. Interview at 9 minutes and 55 seconds. https://lnkd.in/en-pKcic

The Co-op's CEO, Noel Wardick, was interviewed on RTE's Morning Ireland radio programme today expressing his dismay at this totally unacceptable, callous and inhumane decision by the government. It never ceases to amaze how one arm of government undermines and upends the good work of another arm of government. https://lnkd.in/eREDFvJ8

We in Dublin City Community Co-op were delighted to be active co-designers in this important research: Research In Action: Engaging Communities to promote Cervical Screening Sophie Mulcahy Symmons Health Service Executive Irish Cancer Society
I am delighted to share something special I have been working on the last few months. Research In Action: Engaging Communities to Promote Cervical Screening showcases my PhD research which aims to find solutions to promote cervical screening awareness by working with a group of women in inner city Dublin using an approach called co-design. This video the outcomes and benefits of the participatory approach taken, hopefully encouraging others to consider this research approach. Thanks to UCD College College of Health and Agricultural Sciences for funding the video and the Irish Cancer Society for funding the research itself. This work could not have been achieved without the support of the co-design group, Aoife De Brún and Amanda Drury, Dublin City Community Cooperative, Dublin Adult Learning Centre, UCD IRIS Centre and the adivsory group. Thanks to Hannah Bloom for putting this beautiful video together https://lnkd.in/eAFMgHsd
