First Home Scheme are delighted to share the Q2, 2024 update. The update was launched this morning by Minister Darragh O'Brien TD, which also coincides with the second anniversary of the scheme being launched. The latest figures demonstrate the importance and benefit of the scheme to first time buyers, with the number of approvals up by 43% on the same period last year (Jan to June) and the number of homes purchased using the scheme (funds drawn down) up by 107%. There are now over 4,800 individuals/families approved to use the scheme with over 1,900 individual/families in homes purchased with the assistance of the scheme. We are keen to ensure that all eligible home buyers/builders are aware of the scheme. We will continue to work in terms of raising awareness and building on the success of the scheme to date. See the attached flyer for further information on the performance of the scheme over its first two years. For further information go to www.firsthomescheme.ie

Following the scheduled mid-year review of Property Price Ceilings by the First Home Scheme, price ceilings have been increased in 14 counties. These increases will make more new homes available to first time buyers in these counties and help increase supply by addressing viability issues.
