  • Does anyone else feel like this right now with kids going back to school? My son, Dara is starting school on Thursday. Like any big change - uncertainty breeds anxiety. I am with Donkey from Shrek on this one. Thoughts that are weighing down the cognitive mental load are - where will we park to make sure we get there on time? Thoughts weighing down the emotional mental load - will he be ok with such a big transition? My gut tells me, it will be all fine. Change is scary so we need to feel our feels and manage the anxiety. Today, I am going for a walk to find 'Calm in the chaos'. One of the things we can control is how we look after ourselves. To all the parents out there - best of luck with the transition back to school ❤️

I thought I had it all sewn up - focusing on my career in my 20's and having babies in my 30's. I mean what could go wrong? Life threw a few common curve balls. *Miscarriage *Baby loss *Identity crisis and confidence loss post baby *Burnout *Caring for my parents My friend recently told me that us millenials are part of the 'Sandwich Generation'. We are now caring for our parents and small kids at the same time. This is a *hit sandwich and not the one where I tell you something good on either side to mask the unsavory bit in the middle. ⚠ Survival tips - build boundaries, delegate, ask for help and make room for self-care to find 'Calm in the Chaos'. ⁉ These are all easier said that done, building awareness is the first step.

  • My talented client sent this to me after completing 3 coaching sessions around “How to run your home like a business”. As working mothers, we can rarely afford to take the time to reflect on the challenges of managing the mental and physical load that comes with our home and family life while managing a full time paid job. ✅When we invest in being strategic around our life-work balance, we can see a time return on investment. 1️⃣The very first step is to understand what your overall life-work balance long-term goal is. 2️⃣Together we break down the challenges and build short-term goals to overcome them. I act as an accountability partner to help you achieve your short and long-term goals. ⏳The top line metric of success is to save time to invest into self-care. When we take the time to calm our nervous system, we perform better as mothers and as employees. If working towards a life-work balance is something that you would like support with, DM me or reach out on aoife.hughes@frazzle.ie ❤️👩🏽💻⚖️

  • International Women’s Day is happening on the 8th March. This year’s theme is “Inspire Inclusion”. The FRAZZLE vision is that working mothers can be present in their home and work lives knowing that everything is planned and under control. The end goal is for working mothers to reach optimal performance in both roles.   Working mothers carry a heavy mental and physical load outside of the workplace with their home and family lives. A 2019 ESRI report, “Caring and unpaid work in Ireland”, cited that in different sex partnerships, on average women spend twice as much time on housework and caring for their families as men do. When we consider these factors, we can increase equity in the home and inclusion in the workplace. The FRAZZLE framework, “How to run your home like a business” educates working parents on how to plan to delegate to lead in their home and family lives.   I deliver this message via two platforms;   1️⃣Speaker session – 20 minutes “How to run your home like a business” ✅How to make the mental load visible to help with planning, delegation and leadership in the home to work towards a life-work balance. AND/OR 2️⃣The FRAZZLE workshop - 50 mins “How to run your home like a business” ✅How to build a plan around our key life pillars from work, home and family to save time to build a self-care strategy. When we have a specific plan in plan in place, we can delegate and lead. This is targeted to working fathers/partners as well as working mothers as they are the co-leading stakeholder in the business of family.   I have speaking and workshop slots available the week of International Women’s Week from Monday 4th-Friday 8th March. I also build tailored packages for your specific requirements.   If you work in a company that would be interested and would like more information, DM me or reach out on aoife.hughes@frazzle.ie.

  • A big part of building a boundary to protect your time is doing an audit on who are the “drains” and “radiators” in your life. In an ideal world we would spend all our time with people that radiate positive energy and make us feel good and spend no time with people that drain our energy and time with negativity ☀️ Building a boundary is easier said than done, like anything it’s takes time. As a first step, think about the people that are “radiators” and “drains” in your life. Next time you make a decision on how to invest your time, think about what outcome you will get. When you build a boundary, you build self-esteem as saying “no” is saying “yes” to you 👊🏻 This is a key component to working towards a life-work balance ❤️👩🏽💻⚖️

  • The next FRAZZLE podcast episode, “Building boundaries like a boss to save time” is coming out tomorrow ⏳ Time is our most valuable asset 👑 Finding time to invest into our self-care as working mothers is not easy as we have a lot of competing interests. The metric of success with FRAZZLE coaching and planning is time 🕰️ It’s about building a plan around the key quadrants of our lives from our work, home and family to make room for self-care. Self-care spans across our physical, emotional and social health 🩺 A key part to protecting our time is building a boundary. I’ll go into this in more detail in the podcast tomorrow. If you invest 30 minutes of your time into listening to the podcast, you will see a return on your investment in your life-work balance ❤️👩🏽💻⚖️

  • My talented client, Valerie Lenihan sent this to me after working together to enable her to achieve her short-term goals to make room for self-care❤️ The part about stepping back and reflecting on what is going well is so important. We are always striving to achieve the next goal or complete the next task/project 📈 At the end of today, I challenge you to pat yourself on the back for what you got done instead of beating yourself with that demon stick because you didn’t get to everything on your never ending list ✅ You can’t experience a negative and a positive emotion at the same time. Everything in life is a choice. Go for the pat on the back. When we feel good we get our best work done 🙌🏻
