Provide visibility to startups founded by French entrepreneurs operating in Ireland.
Reference public and private initiatives and organisations who support French startups expanding in Ireland.
Be the entry point for Ireland's investors, companies, Tech Talent interested in exploring new opportunities in France.

🇮🇪 Strengthening Irish-French Collaboration on AI and Digital Innovation 🇫🇷
As Ireland deepens its partnership with France in digital innovation, we are pleased to highlight the work of Clara Chappaz, France’s Secretary of State for #AI and #Digital#Affairs. Under her leadership, France is advancing an ambitious vision to position itself—and Europe—as a global leader in #AI and digital transformation, offering valuable insights for Ireland as we navigate similar challenges and opportunities.
Secretary Chappaz’s four priorities outline a roadmap that reflects shared European values:
1️⃣ Harnessing AI for societal benefit
Through the €2.5 billion #France2030 initiative, France is investing in AI research and adoption across businesses and public services. This approach underscores how governments can align innovation with societal impact, a priority Ireland also shares.
2️⃣ Empowering innovative start-ups
France’s thriving #FrenchTech ecosystem, home to 25,000 start-ups creating over 1.3 million jobs, is a testament to its commitment to entrepreneurial growth. Secretary Chappaz’s focus on funding, partnerships, and easing regulatory barriers offers lessons for Ireland’s dynamic start-up environment.
3️⃣ Ensuring a secure and innovative digital space
Balancing regulation with innovation, Secretary Chappaz is driving initiatives to protect data sovereignty, enhance cybersecurity, and address online harms. These efforts resonate with Ireland’s own goals for a safe and secure digital economy.
4️⃣ Promoting an inclusive and sustainable digital future
With programs such as #TechPourToutes, which aims to inspire 10,000 young #women to pursue careers in technology, and accessibility-focused AI tools, Secretary Chappaz is championing a vision for digital inclusion and diversity—priorities Ireland also holds dear.
This work underscores the potential for greater Irish-French collaboration to shape a European approach to AI and digital governance that fosters innovation, security, and inclusion. The visit today of Henri Verdier 🇫🇷 French ambassador for digital affairs at Ministère de l'Europe et des Affaires étrangères to Ireland 🇮🇪 has laid the foundations for a fruitful dialogue on these issue !

Secrétaire d’Etat chargée de l’Intelligence Artificielle et du Numérique
Une troisième voie pour l'IA et le numérique 🇫🇷 🇪🇺
Il nous faut libérer notre potentiel d’innovation pour construire une alternative aux solutions 🇺🇲 et 🇨🇳 . C’est un enjeu de souveraineté économique, d’attractivité, de compétitivité mais aussi un enjeu existentiel pour porter notre vision du monde. Sous l’impulsion du Président de la République Emmanuel Macron et du Premier ministre Michel Barnier, je porterai cette ambition avec quatre objectifs :
1️⃣ Faire de la 🇫🇷 une grande puissance de l’IA au service des Français et de la société
Je renforcerai la stratégie nationale pour l’IA avec 2.5 milliards d’euros engagés depuis 2018 avec #France2030 et Bpifrance : talents, infrastructures de calcul, soutien aux entreprises…
Avec deux priorités : renforcer l’excellence de notre recherche avec la Direction générale de la recherche et de l'innovation (DGRI) et accélérer l’adoption de l’IA dans notre entreprises et nos services publics avec la Direction interministérielle du numérique (DINUM) et la Direction Générale des Entreprises pour faire de l’IA une réalité du quotidien.
2️⃣ Soutenir le développement de notre tissu de jeunes entreprises innovantes
25000 start-ups qui ont créé 1,3 million d’emplois et sont rentrées dans notre quotidien comme Doctolib, Back Market ou BlaBlaCar. Ma conviction sur le potentiel d’innovation de La French Tech reste inchangée.
Je serai la vigie des start-ups pour les accompagner sur leurs priorités avec l’aide de la Mission French Tech : aides à l’innovation, simplification, commande publique et privée.
3️⃣ Sécuriser notre espace numérique sans ralentir l’innovation
« Les 🇺🇲 innove, la 🇨🇳 copie et l' 🇪🇺 r̶é̶g̶u̶l̶e̶ accompagne ! ». La régulation n’est pas une fin en soi mais un outil au service de nos libertés, pour protéger nos citoyens des dérives du numérique sans freiner l’innovation.
Je travaillerai à la protection de nos données sensibles avec le cloud souverain 🇪🇺, à celle de nos entreprises et nos collectivités contre les cyberattaques avec le projet de loi Résilience, et à celle de nos enfants face au cyber harcèlement ou à l’exposition aux contenus pour adultes.
4️⃣ Promouvoir un numérique inclusif, responsable et durable
2 Français sur 10 sont en difficulté avec le numérique. Ils pourront s’appuyer sur l’IA qui rend le numérique accessible avec la commande vocale, les outils d’assistance au code ou à la création d’image. Avec le Conseil national du numérique, nous sensibiliserons des centaines de milliers de Français avec les Cafés IA.
Impossible de conclure sans mentionner la place des femmes dans le numérique, une cause qui m’est chère. Je reprendrai les travaux menés avec l’Inria dans le cadre du plan #TechPourToutes pour orienter 10 000 jeunes filles vers le numérique.

In February 2025, France will host the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit, which will examine what the AI revolution might mean for the world. Ahead of this important summit, the Institute of International and European Affairs, in conjunction with Embassy of France in Ireland, will host a discussion with Dr Patricia Scanlon, Ireland's AI Ambassador and Henri Verdier, Ambassador for Digital Affairs at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, on Irish and French perspectives of what AI might mean for not only their own countries, but for citizens all over the world.
