Fumbally Exchange is a non-profit movement of creative, innovative professionals sharing spaces, ideas and opportunities
About us
Fumbally Exchange is a community of design-focussed small businesses, sole traders and start-ups. Our aim is to cultivate an atmosphere for creative and regenerative growth in a time of great challenges and volatility in our industry. We believe in the capacity and influence of architects and designers to imbue real, exalting and economically measurable benefits to citizen and place. At Fumbally Exchange, businesses, individuals and entrepreneurs can come to work; - to produce, to share information and facilities; - to research and test ideas; - to simply be under this creative envelope connecting across many disciplines and with strong bonds across the design world.

Last year we were fortunate to have Claire Chawke and Jenny O'Leary of Howff Architects in our Blackpitts office for the year and they were joined by architectural graduate, Caoilin O'Meara. Caoilin spoke to us about how being part of Fumbally Exchange while working for a small architectural practice gave her the best of both worlds - the intense focus of working in a small team combined with the social aspect of being part of a bigger community. #MakingWorkTogether

How can we be half way through June already?! Anyway, still time to tell you about some of our upcoming #WednesdaySocials at Fumbally Exchange - a visit to the Dublin-New York portal next week followed by Sketch Club with Graham Thew to close out the month. So if you happen to be in New York next Wednesday get yourself along to the Flatiron South Public Plaza at about 8.30am EDT and wave hello! #MakingWorkTogether #WednesdaySocial #Dublin #NewYork #Portal #DublinNewYorkPortal

Today's #WednesdaySocials event at Fumbally Exchange was a visit to St Audoen's Church on High Street in the Liberties, Dublin's only remaining medieval parish church. Thank you to our very knowledgeable tour guide, Ralph, from the Office of Public Works for a fascinating tour! 📸 Kate Horgan #MakingWorkTogether

Fumbally Exchange reposted this
I couldn't say it better myself (no, really, I couldn't 😂) Fumbally Exchange is incredible. Couldn't recommend it highly enough for all solopreneurs/small businesses/people going batty WFH. There's craic, connection, collaboration and lots of chats. We have board games, table tennis, meeting rooms, parties, events and even a book club! There is such a strong sense of support for each other - insane levels of cheerleading go on here. This is CO-WORKING in the true sense - where everyone gains something of real value from being part of a genuine collective. It's not a shared office; it's a community. I chose to go back to Fumbally after Covid (I was there for two years a decade ago). ZERO regrets, except that I didn't return sooner, and that I left before Michael D got to visit! #collaboration #MakingWorkTogether #creative
We can't believe that it is ten years ago this week that President Michael D Higgins came to visit us at Fumbally Exchange. In his speech that day he talked about how Fumbally Exchange was "founded on a recognition of all that can be achieved when creativity and inventiveness are not viewed as solitary processes, but emerge and are delivered in a shared environment where ideas can emerge and be tested by the response of others." That same spirit of collaboration is just as important to us facing the challenges of today as it was when we were emerging from the financial upheavals a decade ago.
