Part 2: Admin Nightmares in Microsoft 365 😱 If you thought managing Teams and SharePoint permissions was tricky, wait until you dive into the admin side: ➡️ Permission Inheritance: One broken chain and your “secure” library becomes an open folder. 💣 ➡️ Anonymous Links: “Anyone with this link” literally means anyone, forever. Part 1: The SharePoint and Teams Permission Puzzle 🔒 Microsoft 365 permissions are a mix of collaboration dreams and security chaos. Managing access in SharePoint Online and Teams can be like doing a jigsaw with pieces that don't quite fit together. Here’s a taste of the madness: ➡️ Direct Permissions: Add someone to a site... but they can’t access the folder. Because you forgot that one specific permission. ➡️ Groups: One group edits, another reads, and nobody knows who belongs where. A permissions black hole. ➡️ External Sharing: Guest invites + anonymous links = open doors you thought were closed. And then there’s Teams: ➡️ Team Membership: Guests can’t upload files yet Bob from Accounting who left months ago can still access sensitive data. 🤷♂️ ➡️ Channel Permissions: Private channels that are only kind of private, because the linked SharePoint folder didn’t get the memo. ➡️ File Sharing: Sharing made too easy, with sensitive data going wide due to inherited SharePoint settings.
