Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine notice New Equine Traceability System – Census 2024 To improve equine traceability, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine is introducing a new equine traceability system. The new system will be based on equine census returns; it is therefore critically important that all people keeping equines complete a census. Failure to return a census or, submission of a nil return, will result in an equine premises registration number (EPRN) being made inactive on the Departments systems which may in future prevent keepers of equines from being able to • Register foals • Export horses • Sell horses. Where EPRNs are deactivated, those keepers, who intend to keep horses in the future, will have to reapply to their Regional Veterinary Office to reactivate their EPRN. The 2024 census will be held on the night of Saturday 30th of November 2024. It is with great sadness that Horse Sport Ireland today learned of the death of legendary show jumper, Captain Con Power. Con was one of the finest riders of his generation and enjoyed a sparkling career during the 1970s and 1980s. Beginning his career in the Army Equitation School in 1973, he developed into one of the world’s best riders, with notable successes at Aachen, New York and Toronto, while he was the leading rider at the Dublin Horse Show in 1976 and 1979. Con will forever be remembered for being part of the dream team who won the Aga Khan trophy three times in a row, in 1977, 1978 and 1979. Horse Sport Ireland extends its deepest condolences to his wife Margaret, Robert, Elizabeth, and to all of Con’s extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. https://lnkd.in/eHFdtmR8

Tonight Horse Sport Ireland has been shortlisted for the Public Sector Digital Transformation Awards for best use of Cloud Computing. The Awards are organised by the Business Post. Horse Sport Ireland’s new digital epassport system Horse Source has been shortlisted. The platform which went live in July has seen over 75% user adoption within a 6-8 week period. The five combinations representing the THE UNDERWRITING EXCHANGE (IRELAND) LIMITED Irish Show Jumping team for the Longines League of Nations have been confirmed The five representing the league winners and number one team in the competition, led by Chef d’Equipe Michael Blake, are Daniel Coyle with Legacy, Denis Lynch with Vistogrand, Mark McAuley with GRS Lady Amaro, Cian O’Connor with Fancy De Kergane and Mikey Pender with HHS Calais. The action takes place on Sunday afternoon over two rounds and we will keep you updated, as the competition progresses, on our social media channels.
