Farming and finance might seem worlds apart, but for our Head of Public Sector Services and #Economics, Karol Kissane, they go hand in hand. Featured in this week’s Kerry's Eye, Karol shares how he balances his role here at ifac, with running a 100-cow #dairy herd. Karol’s journey has been anything but typical. He left school early to farm with his dad but soon realised making two livings from the land wasn’t easy. So, at 20, he went back to school, earned a business degree, and became a Chartered Accountant & Tax Advisor. But farming never left him and in 2013, he took a risk and converted his family farm to dairy. Now, at ifac, he helps farmers and agri-businesses navigate financial challenges while managing his own farm with a full-time employee. Many businesses face challenges with #stocktaking, inaccurate #pricing, and uncertain #profit #margins. In this week’s Money Mentor column in Irish Country Living, Irish Farmers Journal, Andrew Brolly, our Fractional CFO shares some key steps to take control of stock and pricing: ✅ Stock accuracy – Identify discrepancies, track slow-moving stock, and react to supplier price increases. ✅ Stock pricing – Use a cost calculator to ensure pricing reflects all input costs and margin needs. ✅ Supplier pricing – Negotiate better terms or explore alternative suppliers. ✅ Invoicing accuracy – Ensure all sales are invoiced correctly to improve cash flow. ✅ Profit & cashflow – A proactive approach to stock and pricing leads to better financial health. 📖 Read the full article inside this week's Irish Farmers Journal. #MoneyMentor #FoodBusiness #StockManagement #PricingStrategy #CashFlow

https://lnkd.in/e5sduD6n Lauren Wall and I share our views on todays M&A market in todays Business Post merger & aquisitons supplement. For those SME business owners with companies making EBITDA in the region of €500k to €2m there hasn’t been as good a time for a long to while consider a trade sale or an MBO.
