Yesterday afternoon, the Council and Patron members of the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of meeting H.E. Céline Place, newly appointed Ambassador of France to Ireland, for an important roundtable forum. Engaging in a valuable discussion, the Ambassador and our members took this occasion to highlight the opportunities and challenges that French businesses encounter in Ireland, as well as those that Irish companies experience in the French market. This marked a positive and exciting first step to advancing the dialogue on how we can work towards enhancing the future business relationship between France and Ireland, our closest EU neighbour. Thank you to H.E. Ambassador Celine Place, FICC President Aine Murray and our 30+ Patrons and Council members who joined us in contributing their expertise as leaders in their field, to this important conversation. We look forward to the next one!

About us
Founded in 1978, the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce (FICC) is a bilateral membership organisation that is considered a valued player and influencer in business relationships between Ireland and France. France is now Ireland’s nearest EU neighbour, but the connections between these two nations run much deeper which is clearly demonstrated in the companies which make up FICC membership. Our raison d’être is to support, enable and empower strategic partnerships within the Franco-Irish business community in Ireland. The FICC runs an extensive programme of events annually to build connections between our member companies and with the team in the French embassy, as well as other organisations in the France-Ireland business ecosystem. The chamber also offers a number of services for French companies, acting as “a landing space” for French companies entering the Irish market for the first time. FICC currently has 170+ member companies, including Alstom Ireland, Amundi Asset Management, BNP Paribas, CACI, Caceis, CNP Santander, Cpl, Danone, Decathlon, Egis Group, EirGrid, Hopscotch Europe, Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, JCDecaux, Kingspan, LK Shields Solicitors, Mazars, M-CO, Moët-Hennessy, Murex, Perennial Freight, PwC, Renault Group Ireland, Sanofi, Schneider Electric Ireland, Servier, Sia Partners, Smurfit Kappa, Transdev, Transitions Optical, Valeo and Veolia

✨ 𝐀 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐅𝐈 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 ✨ Last night, FICC members were invited by the Irish Film Institute (IFI) and DS Automobiles to a special networking event and screening as part of the IFI French Film Festival 2024. 🍷🎬 The evening began with a delightful reception, where members connected over drinks and canapés, before enjoying a compelling screening of Souleymane’s Story—a thought-provoking film that shines a light on the challenges faced by undocumented migrants. Directed by Boris Lojkine, Souleymane’s Story tells the powerful narrative of Souleymane (played by Abou Sangaré), a bike courier in Paris navigating the uncertainties of life while awaiting the crucial interview that could determine his future. His story is a poignant portrayal of resilience, hope, and the complexities of seeking asylum. This event was sponsored by DS Automobiles, and we’re most grateful to Glin Donnelly and his team for their support in bringing this impactful film to the big screen. A huge thank you to the Irish Film Institute and Ross Keane for their continued dedication to showcasing the finest international cinema, preserving Ireland's moving image heritage, and fostering a love of film through educational programs. 🎥

The event was kindly hosted by AXA Ireland, who treated us to a delicious breakfast spread.🥐☕We want to extend our thanks to Michael Comerford, AXA Direct Retail Director, for opening the session. We then heard from Elodie Morin-Rager, Director of Business France Ireland who shared valuable insights about the work of Business France. Business France plays a key role in promoting French businesses globally and fostering the international development of the French economy through their worldwide network. Business France Ireland specifically targets and supports Irish investors in France by facilitating Franco-Irish cooperation. During the talk, Elodie highlighted the benefits of the V.I.E. (Volontariat International en Entreprise) programme, which offers an opportunity for recent graduates to gain international professional experience. 🎓🌐 Today there are 150 V.I.E. participants in Ireland, one of them being our very own new V.I.E. Benjamin Fol! Following Elodie’s discussion, Benjamin gave us a very interesting 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 presentation as he discussed his role as a Sales Engineer at GLOBAL Technologies. Global Technologies is an International full-service Technology Company specialised in designing, installing, operating and maintaining critical technical infrastructures and systems. As always, it was a pleasure to see new and familiar faces yesterday. We are so appreciative to each and every one of you who have participated and engaged in these dynamic sessions with Le NETwork over the past year. We look forward to reuniting in 2025 to continue sharing inspiring news and exciting initiatives from the vibrant Franco-Irish business community. 🇫🇷 🇮🇪
